The Litigation/Securities Project Assistant position is an entry-level training position for individuals who anticipate going to law or graduate school and/or pursuing a career as a Paralegal. Working efficiently and collaboratively with and under the supervision of attorneys, senior paralegals, paralegals, senior project assistants and support professionals, the Project Assistant assists with all phases of the litigation process and government and internal investigations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists with document collection, production, organization and management. Assists with the maintenance and manipulation of document databases for purposes of facilitating productions, preparing for depositions, hearings, trials, proceedings and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Assists with the implementation and utilization of eDiscovery applications for purposes of document management and production including redacting and bates stamping.
Assists with the utilization of WH Discovery Solutions Roles and Process Management and Review Methodology.
Updates case management pages, electronic databases and support systems.
Assists senior project assistants, paralegals and senior paralegals with routine preparations for depositions, including the assembly of witness files and reference binders. Assists with routine preparations for and at trials, proceedings, arbitrations and mediations.
Assists with updating indices, chronologies, logs and tracking systems. Assists with the set-up, maintenance and close-out of case rooms in accordance with best practices.
Assists with establishing logistical support and set up of remote offices to accommodate the needs of the case team for purposes of depositions, hearings, trials and proceedings.
Assists with administrative tasks, including filing, scanning, printing and organization of documents and information.
Attends and participates in training programs for professional development and building technology skills.
Meets the Firm''s billable hours expectations and adheres to best practices for daily time entry for client billable work and eTime for attendance and time off requests.
Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
Contributes to the Firm''s Service Excellence initiative to consistently improve its image internally and externally. Displays professionalism, quality service and a can do attitude to internal members/departments of the Firm as well as external clients and vendors via electronic and print correspondence, over the telephone and in-person.

Required Experience
Education: BA/BS preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
