Aftercare Specialist, Bonded Labor

IJM is seeking an Aftercare Specialist with a focus on Bonded Labor to support IJM Field Offices in providing aftercare to released laborers and their families and in the development of programs to increase the effectiveness of host country aftercare providers in aftercare service delivery.
The qualified candidate will have a minimum of five years' experience in the field of social work including two years' experience in the field working with released laborers and two years' experience successfully leading and managing teams of professionals. Successful candidates will have experience networking with NGOs in rural settings, experience managing cross-cultural teams and developing and implementing training programs for aftercare providers in the developing world context. Experience working in multidisciplinary teams is preferred.
This position is based at IJM Headquarters in the Washington, DC area. This person will report directly to the Vice President of Aftercare and works in close collaboration with the Regional Director and Field Office Directors.
### Field Office Aftercare Support
Collaborate with Field Office Leadership and facilitate the development of comprehensive aftercare policies, procedures and best practices to ensure IJM's worldwide aftercare interventions are conducted in an effective, professional and ethical manner;
Develop basic and advanced training modules to equip IJM's Field Office aftercare personnel worldwide with the skills and knowledge necessary to execute aftercare interventions in accordance with IJM policies, procedures and best practices;
Train IJM Field Office aftercare staff to ensure aftercare workers have the skills and knowledge necessary to execute aftercare interventions in accordance with IJM best practices;
Monitor the quality of IJM Field Office aftercare staff and collaborate with line managers to address problems and shortcomings;
Collaborate with Regional and Field Office leadership on the development of Field Office aftercare strategy;
Mentor Field Office aftercare leaders and provide strategic guidance as needed;
Ensure Field Office aftercare workers have specialized resources necessary to conduct aftercare interventions in an effective and ethical manner and are trained in their use; and
Coordinate closely with Director of Contingency Operations to ensure that risks arising from Field Office aftercare interventions are closely monitored and minimized.
### Aftercare Professionalism
Assist Field Offices in developing critical relationships with host country aftercare leaders as needed;
Collaborate with Field Office teams in the design and implementation of host country aftercare capacity building projects for purposes of justice system transformation; and
Develop and provide 1 - 5 day topical trainings to host country aftercare workers.
### Assessment & Evaluation
Participate in assessment teams evaluating potential new sites for IJM expansion; and
Assist in design and implementation of studies to evaluate impact of IJM aftercare programs.
### Bridge Building
Maintain a close network of relationships and build strategic partnerships with leaders in key international, national, and local aftercare organizations, associations and related NGOs; and
Represent and communicate IJM's mission and activities to aftercare organizations, churches, fellowships, ministries, and the media.
## Travel Requirements
The position is based at IJM headquarters in Washington, DC, but requires 12 - 16 weeks of travel to the developing world per year.
## Required Skills and Experience
Master of social work or equivalent degree;
At least five years' experience in the field of social work;
Experience working with survivors of trauma;
Minimum of two years' experience in successfully leading and managing teams of aftercare professionals;
Experience building teams, mentoring and coaching aftercare workers, creatively assessing information, mobilizing aftercare teams, and communicating in cross-cultural environments; and
Experience developing and implementing aftercare capacity building programs in the developing world context.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
