Overview:
Primarily responsible for developing, producing and executing video content for both the Washington Wizards and Washington Mystics while serving as the primary on-camera talent for both teams.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the Washington Wizards and Washington Mystics internal beat reporter, covering the teams on a daily basis and generating content to be distributed through the Monumental Network.
Develop and produce video content from the organization's business initiatives to help tell the story of the Washington Wizards and Washington Mystics.
Develop additional video elements to increase viewership on Monumental Network and Washington Wizards & Washington Mystics.
Contribute editorial content to Monumental Network and social media platforms.
Monitor and keep track of Washington Wizards, Mystics, NBA and WNBA teams and news.
Prepare and research stories to cover and questions to ask during interviews.
Assist with Washington Wizards and Washington Mystics public appearances and promotional initiatives, including marketing and advertising campaigns.
Participate in special events and in-game elements as assigned.
Maintain, transport and understand how to operate broadcast equipment (camera, editing software, etc.)
Assist in producing, shooting and editing of Wizards Magazine and Mystics Magazine.
Additional game night and related duties as assigned.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in TV/Broadcast, Communications or experience in a related field preferred.
Minimum of two years experience as a reporter and shooting with HD cameras.
A self-starter who can generate his or her own story ideas on a daily basis.
Proficient knowledge of Avid Media Composer.
Strong editing background for production needs.
Must be able to communicate and work well with others.
Must have a good knowledge of Quicktime and other related web based formats.
Strong background in sports.
Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs.
Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays and team schedule.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
