This position is located at the Voice of America''s South and Central Asia Division in Washington, DC. The incumbent serves as an International Broadcaster for the Urdu Service, with responsibility for conceiving, planning, researching, writing and broadcasting original TV scripts of a highly complex nature.

_INTRODUCTION TO AGENCY:_ The Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG), an independent federal agency, is an exciting, multi cultural organization that encompasses all U.S. civilian international broadcasting. The BBG is comprised of the Voice of America, which delivers high quality, multimedia programming in 44 languages to audiences worldwide; the Office of Cuba Broadcasting (Radio and TV Marti); the International Broadcasting Bureau, which provides transmission, administrative, and other support services; and three grantee organizations - Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty; the Middle East Broadcasting Networks (Alhurra TV and Radio Sawa), and Radio Free Asia. Our staff of dedicated professionals serves as an example of a free and independent media, reaching a worldwide audience with news, information, and relevant discussions.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Writes news-related stories for use in television. Prepares integrated, highly-targeted, well-balanced scripts, radio, television programs or Internet web presentations that captures the attention of the audience.
Writes/produces feature stories on a variety of subjects.
Adapts and/or translates material, which may include simultaneous translations.
Edits broadcast segments, including stringer reports. Voices material for or during television broadcasts.
Participates in the development of regularly scheduled television programs. Initiates coverage of news and features. Participates in coverage of major events and in the preparation and execution of broadcast remotes.
Contributes to production elements, including editing of taped material, evaluation of stringer reports and production of live air shows.
Prepares and/or presents news and feature materials in a studio or on location for radio/television simulcast. May serve as show or segment host.

Qualifications:__ Applicants must have one year of specialized experience which is related directly to this line of work AND fluency in the English and Urdu languages that shows the ability to read, write and speak in these languages.

__Specialized Experience__ is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of such experience includes experience in broadcast journalism that shows the ability to write, edit, interview, report and broadcast stories for television in the Urdu language.
Suitability Determination: If selected, you will be subject to a security investigation to establish your suitability for federal employment. The security investigation will include, among other aspects, a review of your credit and legal history.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
