Senior Underwriter - Primary Casualty

Position Description
As a Senior Underwriter the ideal candidate will be responsible for underwriting new and renewal business in our Corporate Accounts Practice (CAP). This includes accounts up to $700 mil. in revenues. Lines of coverage includes Primary Casualty, including Workers' Compensation, Business, Auto, and General Liability, and Excess/ Umbrella. The portfolio includes both loss sensitive and guaranteed cost programs.
Responsibilities include marking the Pittsburgh or Washington territory, and developing relationships with our broker partners and major clients.
This position will cross train with Excess.
This position location can be either Washington, DC or Pittsburgh.

Position Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
Minimum of 3 years experience underwriting commercial casualty lines of business.
Strong analytical skills; customer orientation, interpersonal and relationship management skills.
Strong sales and presentation skills.
Strong organizational skills and time management skills; proficiency with PC applications. (Word, Excel, etc.)
Must have the ability to travel to meet with brokers and clients.
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
