Background : The Intelligence Analyst provides contractor support in furtherance of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A;) mission: to equip the Homeland Security Enterprise with the intelligence and information it needs to keep the homeland safe, secure, and resilient. In particular, providing analytical support to a 24/7/365 watch center focused on reviewing and assessing reporting from across the intelligence and law enforcement communities.
Contract Job Description Information
The Intelligence Analyst works independently on complex problems involving all phases of intelligence and law enforcement analysis to provide strategic, operational, or tactical support to decision-making and response. Knowledge of one or more intelligence topics pertaining to Homeland Security including, but not limited to, counterterrorism, infrastructure, cybersecurity, counterdrug, travel, science, fluency in/active usage of languages used in the analytic intelligence and counterintelligence process, border security, and all phases of the intelligence cycle such as production and dissemination is required. May provide direction for personnel performing analysis tasks, including the review of work products for correctness, user standards, and progress in accordance with DHS analytic standards. Leads or participates in strategic, tactical, and operational level planning and management studies. Leads or participates in studies, assessments, administrative functions, program management, outreach, and acquisition support.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
