SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Senior Accountant Lead position will be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive understanding of employee benefits and be able to analyze and prepare monthly accruals and related reconciliations. Play a key role in the development of the annual benefit budget and provide detail analytical trend analysis related to current and future benefit costs. Maintain and prepare benefit allocation overhead costs across all business centers on a monthly basis using best practices. Analyze salary and wage expenses and prepare required accruals and account reconciliations. Position will play a leadership role to drive best practices and analyses regarding benefit and salary expenses for the entire company.

Essential Functions:
oMaintain a comprehensive understanding of employee benefits and be able to analyze and prepare monthly accruals and related reconciliations.
oPlay a key role in the development of the annual benefit budget and provide detail analytical trend analysis related to current and future benefit costs.
oMaintain and prepare benefit allocation overhead costs across all business centers on a monthly basis using best practices.
oWork with Human Capital and outside consultants to properly document and accrue postretirement benefits for retired employees.
oParticipate in the development of new processes to streamline and improve the overall accuracy and timeliness of month end accruals.
oAnalyze salary and wage expenses and prepare required accruals and account reconciliations.
oCoordinate and provide required documentation for external as well as internal auditors.
oPosition will play a leadership role to drive best practices and analyses regarding benefit and salary expenses for the entire company.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:
CPA and/or MBA.

WORK
Experience:
oDemonstrated experience in an analytical-related position.
oMust have high level knowledge and demonstrated ability to use SAP or other ERP systems and Microsoft Suites.
oComprehensive understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and experience completing account reconciliations.
oExperience preparing detail variance analysis as well as written explanation regarding actual costs versus prior month, budget and forecast.

PREFERRED WORK
Experience:
oExperience analyzing and accruing health insurance costs or other healthcare related functions related to finance and accounting.
oDemonstrated ability to understand and prepare accounting, budgeting and forecasting analyses.
oPrior experience preparing PowerPoint presentations for Senior Management's review related to historical and current trend analysis.

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
