SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Principal Business Liaison works with business leaders and acts as a liaison between IT and business units. The IT business liaison is primarily responsible for the strategic implementation of new technology solutions that improve business efficiency while meeting corporate business goals. Working within several functional areas of the business across the Reservations and Revenue Management ecosystem, the liaison proposes and aligns technology solutions to business strategies and builds consensus on IT investment decisions between Senior business and IT leaders. Utilizing travel industry knowledge and experience, partners at a strategic level and with the business and IT, identifing optimal long term technology solutions and near term technology enhancements, ensuring the effective use of technology leads to the development and growth of the business. The Principal Business Liaison is a business relationship manager responsible for the collection, analysis, review, documentation and communication of business needs to the IT organization through direct interaction with business unit leaders. The Principal Business Liaison collaborates with senior management in the Amtrak Marketing & Sales and Revenue Management organizations to research and discover business requirements, design and oversee development and delivery of technology solutions. This position also identifies and explains to business partners the best technology solution available to meet their Reservations and Revenue Management solutons and services needs.

Essential Functions:
o Establishes relationships with business partners requiring technology solutions; develops governance agreements and facilitates planning processes.
o Participates in short and long term planning sessions with business partners to improve business processes and to prioritize investments in process, people, applications, services and infrastructure.
o Develops and negotiates service level agreements.
o Assists in the selection of vendors in accordance with IT and corporate procedures.
o Manages the process of identifying and communicating high-level business requirements; facilitates the resolution of problems reported by the business.
o Manages the design and implementation of technology solutions for the business; liaises with IT technical resources, sharing business expertise to align business process to technology solution
o Assists with the development of plans and budgets for business partner needs; monitors and reports on plan vs actuals.

WORK
Experience:
o Demonstrated experience in IT program management, business technology portfolio management, IT strategy and planning.
o Demonstrated relevant business work experience in rail operations and transportation strategy and delivery solutions business process areas.
o Significant experience in a business relationship manager role with demonstrated successful outcomes.
o Has a strong understanding of information systems, business processes, the key drivers and measures of success for the business and the short and long term direction of the business and technology.
o Demonstrated breadth and in-depth knowledge of the travel industry, reservations and/or revenue management domain business areas.
o Able to effectively build a project plan and measure and communicate against it; able to identify and mitigate risk.
o Extremely strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; strong negotiator; effective use of conflict resolution skill.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:
o Master's degree.
o Project management certification

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
