Full-time Career/Career Conditional The Office of Investment Security, in the International Affairs (IA) office of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, fulfills Treasury's statutory responsibilities as chair of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), which has the authority to review the national security effects of foreign acquisitions of U.S. businesses. The office leads and coordinates the review by sixteen Executive Branch departments and White House offices of each transaction notified to CFIUS. Please refer to Conditions of Employment. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Working closely with other Investment Security staff, Treasury legal counsel and other Treasury program offices, other agencies, and parties to transactions, to ensure timely progression of cases;
Drafting memoranda to senior Treasury officials, and possibly the President, presenting the issues raised by particular transactions notified to CFIUS, and recommending courses of action.
Supporting review and analysis on specific cases.

Specialized
Experience: For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: experience with 1) international financial market and investment policy issues 2) conducting analyses of foreign direct investment or similar financial transactions3) communicating clearly and succinctly such analyses, recommendations and studies.

You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows:a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education in finance, business administration, economics, accounting, insurance, engineering, mathematics, banking and credit, law, real estate operations, statistics, or other fields related to the position, such as agriculture, agricultural economics, farm, livestock or ranch management, or rural sociology leading to such a degree or LL.M.

You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.

Specialized experience for this position includes: experience with 1) a wide range of international financial market and investment policy issues 2) conducting specialized analyses of foreign direct investment or similar financial transactions to identify economic and national security risks, and 3) communicating clearly and succinctly such analyses, recommendations and studies to senior decision makers.
For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: experience with 1) a wide range of international financial market and investment policy issues 2) conducting analyses of foreign direct investment or similar financial transactions to identify economic or national security risks and relating them to public policy, and 3) communicating clearly and succinctly such analyses, recommendations and studies to senior decision makers. _DO has partnered with the Treasury's Bureau of the Fiscal Service to provide certain personnel services to its organization. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
