This is a key position within the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Intern NTE appointments are made on a temporary basis not to exceed 1 year from the time of the initial appointment to complete temporary projects perform labor-intensive tasks not requiring subject-matter expertise, or to fill traditional summer jobs. Appointments may be extended in 1 year increments up to the established caps. Intern NTEs may be converted to a term, career, or career-conditional appointment non-competitively if requirements are met.

As a Student Trainee (Mission Support Specialist) assigned to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Office of the Principal Legal Advisor (OPLA), you will:
Coordinate and perform a wide variety of administrative and management services essential to the operations of the office (including, but not limited to, management and information systems, telecommunications, budget, finance, procurement, human resources, training, logistics, property, space, records and files, printing and graphics, mail, travel, and office equipment),
Serve as an advisor to management on assigned administrative matters,
Conduct or participate in the evaluation of administrative programs, systems and methods and identify ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of these services at the local level, and
Represent the office in dealings with vendors and organizations within the agency that have primary responsibility for these services.
Pathways Internship Programs candidates must meet the qualification requirements consistent with the ICE Pathways Programs Qualification Standard applicable to the position being filled.
Candidate must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment on a full or half-time basis as a degree-seeking student.
Must remain in good academic standing as defined by the school, generally at least a 2.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) for undergraduate programs (cumulative) and a 3.0 GPA for advanced degree programs.
Cumulative GPA of 2.0 must be maintained throughout the entire internship appointment.
Must be 16 years or older at the time of appointment.
Degree does not have to be related to the position/series; however to be eligible, candidate must meet the ICE Qualification Standards for the position to which the Intern may be converted.
Meet the ICE developed qualifications standards prior to appointment and any physical, suitability, security requirements and if applicable medical clearance.
If selected, you will be required to sign a Pathways Program Participant Agreement.
GS-3: In order to meet the minimum qualification requirements for this position at the GS-3 level, applicant must meet the following:
Completion of one full academic year of post-high school study. One full year of undergraduate study is the number of credit hours determined by the college, university, or school to represent one year of full-time study.
Note: All post-high school education must be accredited by an accrediting body or organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
