As the Supervisory Managing Editor (Internet) for PNN, the incumbent is responsible for the editorial direction and overall content of the Persian language website and relevant social media platforms (such as Face book, Twitter, You Tube, Insta-gram, etc.). _

_INTRODUCTION TO AGENCY_
The Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG), an independent federal agency, is an exciting, multicultural organization that encompasses all U.S. civilian international broadcasting. The BBG is comprised of the Voice of America, which delivers high quality, multimedia programming in 44 languages to audiences worldwide; the Office of Cuba Broadcasting (Radio and TV Marti); the International Broadcasting Bureau, which provides transmission, administrative, and other support services; and three grantee organizations - Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty; the Middle East Broadcasting Networks (Alhurra TV and Radio Sawa), and Radio Free Asia. Incumbent plans and formulates short-term and long-term Internet and social media programming with Executive Editor, colleagues and subordinate staff to assure that digital programming, formats and individual segments exemplify the highest professional broadcast and Internet standards.
Ensures that programming is designed to attract the maximum number of users in an internationally competitive broadcast environment and conforms to the provisions of the VOA Charter, Journalistic code, Style book and Best Practices guide.
Incumbent has full editorial responsibility for directing the development and production of complex programming of the Internet.
Oversees the creation and management of the production process of web content: re-purposing/creating of text, digital audio and video production, and graphics creation/selection.
Guides Web Editors and staff in finding appropriate photos, illustrations, audio, video and Internet links to add depth of knowledge to individual reports.
Incumbent leads and supervises multimedia writers, reporters, and producers within the Persian News Network to produce integrated, well-balanced and targeted content in an effort to increase audience market share of both web and mobile platforms.
Incumbent keeps abreast of new developments in Internet technology, while maintaining familiarity with diverse fields related to web development for a complex, database driven web site.
He or she plans and assigns work while establishing and clearly communicating guidelines and performance standards for staff.
_Basic Qualifications_: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GG-12), which is directly related to this line of work, AND must be bilingual with excellent command of both the Persian and English languages, in order to speak, write, research, translate and copy edit in these languages.

_SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE_: is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience includes, supervising and leading a team of Internet writers, Web Editors, multimedia writers, reporters and producers; skilled in the use of mobile and social media platforms (such as Face book, Twitter, You Tube, Insta-gram, etc.); AND including the use of Internet journalism techniques such as, writing and editing news copy for the web in an effort to produce integrated, well-balanced written and graphic materials that captures the attention of the targeted audience.

This is a supervisory position requiring that a selectee on an initial supervisory appointment serve a one-year supervisory probationary period.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
