This position starts at a salary of $89,924(GS-13). Apply for this exciting opportunity to become a member of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Office of Chief Information Officer, Support Operations Division, Physical Security Branch; Washington, D.C.
EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions. Direct Deposit is mandatory One year of supervisory probationary peirod may be required In this position, you will you will responsible for the safeguarding of information, personnel, property, assets, and/or material from theft, loss, misuse, fraud, disclosure, espionage, or sabotage; and for the management and implementation of identity, credential and access management programs. Typical assignments include:
Identify needs for protection and security; develop and maintain the physical means for protection and security; develop, implement and maintain procedural and technical methods to enhance physical protection.
Develop, evaluate and implement security program policy and or direction.
Interpret or develop policy direction for application of security requirements or countermeasures on an organizational-wide basis.
Serve as technical expert on security policies, regulations, procedures, and conduct agency oversight reviews on the effectiveness of security programs and practices.
Plan, assign and evaluate work of subordinates; set and adjust short-term priorities; prepare work completion schedules; identify developmental and training needs; give advice, counsel and resolve complaints and grievances.
You qualify for this position at the GS-13 level (starting salary $89,924) if you possess one of the following :
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the Federal Government. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying specialized experience includes: (1) Planning major security programs for a federal installation such as Anti-terrorism Policy, Law Enforcement and Physical Security; (2) Assisting with manpower-related security policy implementation (3) Recommending regulatory or procedural changes to improve the effectiveness of security controls and to enhance physical protection. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
