The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) role is a position that is field based and is comprised of nurses reporting to a Dir. The CNE partners with their commercial team members, sales, marketing, managed markets, patient advocacy, as well as medical counterparts, MSLs and medical affairs. The CNE will also establish ongoing relationships with key customers, local and regional advocacy organizations and societies, to include but not limited to ONS. This collaborative approach will serve to provide education and enhanced clinical care, and to build strategic relationships with both key customers and Onyx internal customers. A CNE is bound by the product label for all promotional efforts, and in the interaction with non-commercial counterparts.
Represent specified Onyx products in the medical community for an assigned geographical area in accordance with Onyx direction and policy, focused on the nursing segment.
Develops strong, long-term relationships with clinical personnel, advocacy organizations, key nursing organizations, and societies, focused on the nursing segment.
Collaborate within assigned geographical area to identify and access key customers. Communicate and coordinate CNE efforts with sales representatives, RBD's, Patient Advocacy, Marketing Liaisons, Market Access Managers, MSLs, and other corporate colleagues, as part of an integrated team to provide education and clinical support for all Onyx marketed products.
Partner with key commercial and medical personnel to ensure appropriate and compliant utilization and disease state education as it relates to Onyx Pharmaceuticals products.
Monitor, collect, and communicate to Onyx counterparts customer insights, focused on the nursing segment, regarding their experience with Onyx marketed products.
Collaborate with managed care counterparts to provide ongoing clinical updates which affects reimbursement and/or clinical guidelines
Executes external disease state educational presentations and on label product presentations for dinner programs, round tables, and society presentations. Provides in-office/in-hospital educational presentations to key customers reactively in response to an identified need/request for clinical information. Additional presentations for nursing groups, societies, and various patient support groups, including patients and caregivers, on disease state and Onyx marketed products, utilizing on label approved slide decks may also be completed by the CNE.
Provide educational offerings that are guided and designed to address clinical knowledge gaps/trends as identified via customer request, inquiry and via Medical Information trend/gap analysis.
Work collaboratively with key nursing personnel and societies to identify opportunities to develop and publish important clinical content as it relates to Onyx marketed programs.
Work closely with marketing to identify and develop nursing specific tools to fulfill the needs of this customer to include, but not limited to, patient educational aids and slide deck presentations.
Support and assist key nursing customers and advocacy organizations in developing their internal institutional education programs as it relates to Onyx marketed products.
Maintain an open dialogue with key opinion leaders in the nursing arena and develop product champions for promoted products.
Participate in developing, recruiting, training, and coaching the nursing promotional speakers' bureau. Work with commercial counterparts to target and place these programs. Identify opportunities to organize and facilitate oncology nursing roundtables.
Develops and executes geographical based strategic and tactical plans to meet customer and business needs.
## Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or RN
## Preferred Qualifications
OCN strongly recommended.

years in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably oncology or commensurate experience.
Strong clinical expertise and ability to articulate and communicate complex information.
Experience in working/leading cross-functional teams to coordinate and execute plans and projects.
Established record of consistent achievement of goals and objectives
Demonstrated track record of achieving/exceeding responsibilities, goals and objectives.
Demonstrated track record of influencing, negotiation and presentation skills.
Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of the oncology market
Experience in targeting, developing and maintaining a customer base
Experience in building customer relationships with key nursing organizations, targeted accounts, state societies, and other identified key customers.
Demonstrated customer literacy and the ability to interpret clinical and market data.
No management of staff required. However, ability to coordinate and lead cross functional teams imperative.
Demonstrates expert knowledge in related disease states and the ability to serve as a technical and clinical resource to the nursing community.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of FDA regulations on the promotion of pharmaceuticals and the reporting of adverse drug reactions.
Clinical experience in the targeted therapeutic areas preferred.
Working knowledge of the targeted geographical area preferred.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and self-presentation skills.
Ability to utilize customer relationships and develop traditional and non-traditional customer relationships to further business opportunities.
Identifies opportunities and develops relationships with current and future health care providers in the nursing community.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Approximately 50% travel.
