Job Description
Summary:
To coordinate, maintain, promote and execute all phases of law career programs sponsored by the Career
Center, which entails coordinating activities and efforts across the entire department and extensive
interaction with employers, faculty, and students.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus five years of relevant experience. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Qualifications:
Experience in working with a variety of employers.
Career services experience, as it pertains to the legal job market is preferred.
Excellent relationship building skills.
Excellent customer service skills to work with a diverse, multi-cultural population of students, faculty and staff.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as organizational skills.
Previous experience in higher education is preferred.
Proficiency with contemporary hardware and software applications.
### Job Duties
Manages a comprehensive employer relations program involving outreach and service to over 500 regional, national and international legal employers. Serves as the initial primary contact for legal employers with respect to interview programs and all educational programs offered by the Career Center. Interacts with law firm hiring partners, managing partners, and recruiting managers.
Manages all aspects of legal recruiting and educational programs. Manages office's staff with respect to all interview initiatives and student educational programs.
Counsels students on career strategies and researches their employment needs to direct them toward targeted employers based on their areas of interest. Manages employer events and employer visits to campus, arranges and attends lunches with legal employment representatives.
Manages all phases of the Fall Interviewing Program, Regional Interviewing Programs, Public Interest Program, Small/Medium Interviewing Program, Spring Recruitment, International Student Interviewing Program for over 1800 students. Negotiates all contracts and services for outside vendors. Coordinates, and travels extensively in support of eight, regional interviewing programs.
Manages office's marketing strategy regarding legal recruiting and educational programs. Advises and counsels students on application process and job search strategy.
Represents the Career Center at national, regional, and local meetings of appropriate professional organizations and associations. Works regularly with the career development offices at other law schools, by acting as a liaison between the Law School, law students and employers (legal and alternative).
Trains staff and students on the use of the database and web based recruiting systems. Maintains current list of employers, (i.e., small and large firms), public interest organizations, government agencies, alternative careers, etc. Researches and stays current with legal market place. Maintains all database and web-based employer systems. Maintains and updates centralized employer data files. Gathers, analyzes, compiles, and publicizes statistical data for all interviewing programs.
Supervises one staff member; performs other work related duties as assigned.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
