SiTEL Simulation Specialist II
Provides technical and operational support for the Clinical Simulation Center to ensure participants and
Simulation Center customers receive quality services in simulated medical education.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Associate's degree in business, management, education, or healthcare related field; or an
equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: 3 years of previous work experience required with at least 1 year in a high intensity work
environment. Related areas of experience include Customer Service, Retail, Junior Engineer, Project
Management, Business Management, Logistics Management, Biomedical Engineering, Surgical Technologist,
EMT, Paramedic, LPN, Junior Client Facing Engineer, and Instructional Technology.
LICENSE/CERT/REG: No special certification, registration or license required.
SKILLS: Communicates effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to present to other professionals/nonprofessionals,
in a clear concise manner. Proven experience prioritizing tasks. Excellent judgement and
problem solving skills.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Assists with simulations by playing the role of the patient voice or as an additional healthcare provider.
Assists with the design of new simulators and simulator technology. Recommends solutions or suggestions
for improving the CSC operational model.
Communicates with the simulator manufacturers regarding equipment troubleshooting and systems problems
& maintain record of repairs. Coordinates the return of simulators requiring repair.
Conducts daily restocking and inspection of patient rooms, code carts and procedure carts within the CSC to
ensure par levels are meet. Requests new supplies to be ordered when needed.
Conducts orientation for course participants to the Clinical Simulation Center, to Human Patient Simulators
such as SimMan and orients them to set expectations of performance in simulated environments to support a
positive and safe learning experience.
Installs software and hardware upgrades and maintain functionality of manikin components as directed by
manufacturer support.
Maintains confidentiality regarding job assignments and sensitive issues.
Maintains simulation equipment with daily, weekly & monthly maintenance. Performs annual preventative
maintenance on human patient simulators & task trainer models.
Manages the timing between courses to meet the schedule plan for set up & break down between courses.
Offers solutions for scheduling, space management equipment or supplies when conflicts are identified and
coordinates with the Clinical Simulation Center Manager & Outreach Education Coordinators.
Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams and committees. Participates in
meetings and on committees as requested.
Performs orientation of new CSC faculty to the use of task trainers, simulators and the facility capabilities to
ensure that education objectives are supported and that the CSC simulators are handled safely and
appropriately to SiTEL CSC standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Provides back up to the Clinical Simulation Center Navigator by answering phones and assisting participants
with questions, registration within the learning management system, and providing instructions for completion
of a post course evaluation.
Provides excellent customer service to faculty instructors, participants, clients, visitors and employees of the
Clinical Simulation Center through positive, respectful and professional communication via conversation,
phone or email. Provides tours of the Clinical Simulation Center to local, domestic and international visitors
and guests, as needed.
Reviews course design toolkits with designated Outreach Education Coordinator to ensure that the facility,
equipment, simulators and supplies are available & prepared for courses prior to the arrival of clients or
participants.
Serves as simulator operator by running scenarios with faculty instructor's direction.
Travels to other SiTEL Clinical Simulation Centers in the Baltimore/Washington DC region (up to 10%) to
provide support with the delivery of simulation courses as needed. Travels to the International Simulation in
Healthcare Conference annually.
Working Conditions
May be required to travel to various locations as needed. Reliable transportation may be required.
Working at another site and/or other MedStar departments or programs may be required.

REPORTS TO: Manager - SiTEL Center Operations
SUPERVISES: No direct reports

CB Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
