Job Summary
_FLSA: Non Exempt
Coordinates and instructs American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Life Support training programs for
healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Credentialed by relevant professional association.
Experience: 1 year teaching experience; 1 year AHA Advanced programs (ACLS/PALS) is preferred.
LICENSE/CERT/REG: Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Instructor certification plus either
current American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS or PALS instructor certification are required.
SKILLS: Excellent customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work
independently. Effective teaching skills.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in the clinical and marketing efforts of the Clinical Simulation Center.
Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department
policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation
regulations.
Maintains instruction/training aids and equipment.
Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams and committees. Participates in
meetings and on committees as requested.
Participates in other quality education programs for healthcare providers, including Code Blue Preparedness,
In Situ, Advanced refresher courses and conferences.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Plans and instructs Continuing Education Courses for healthcare professionals and lay rescuer within the
AHA guidelines.
Plans, coordinates and instructs AHA advanced courses including, but not limited to, Advanced Cardiac Life
Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Physical Requirements
NO PATIENT CARE/CONTACT: Visual Acuity. Manual dexterity. Moderate to heavy physical effort: Physical
mobility with ability to lift, push or pull up to and including 35 lbs. Walking, standing, sitting for prolonged
periods. Ability to hear and orally communicate. Ability to read, comprehend and write the English language.
Working Conditions
May be required to travel to various locations as needed. Reliable transportation may be required.
Working at another site and/or other MedStar departments or programs may be required.
ATTENDANCE: Regular job attendance is an essential job function.
NO PATIENT CARE/CONTACT: Mostly sedentary work in office type setting. Use of office equipment on a
regular basis including computers, phones, etc. Potential for incidental exposure to patients, visitors and
family members with a variety of physical and psychiatric/mental health conditions. Position may require
flexible scheduling, off-shifts, weekend, holiday, on-call and/or overtime hours of work in accordance with
department policy or procedures.

REPORTS TO: AHA Training Coordinator - SiTEL
SUPERVISES: No direct reports

CB Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
