Joining the Office of Investigations, Forensic Services Division, Polygraph Branch will allow you to utilize your expertise in providing a variety of administrative, technical, and clerical support duties related to the tracking, processing, closing, and reporting on all polygraph examinations conducted by the Secret Service. U.S. citizenship is required. The selectee will serve as a Polygraph Support Assistant in the Office of Investigations, Forensic Services Division, Polygraph Branch. Typical work assignments include:
Performing a variety of administrative and technical support duties related to tracking, closing and reporting on all polygraph examinations conducted by the Service; maintaining liaison with Security Clearance Division (SCD) to ensure the timely completion of applicant screening polygraph exams; maintaining, preparing and distributing statistical reports of examinations, maintaining employee personnel files and passports of polygraph examiners, and coordinating their physical exam schedules.
Maintaining polygraph files as well as archives and destroys polygraph-related documents as per National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA) timelines and policies; reviewing and editing reports and making changes per the direction of Assistant to the Special Agent in Charge(ATSAIC); preparing and distributing official examination report; and working with the Information resources Management Division to enhance and modify all polygraph databases.
Providing informative responses to operational questions received from various Service personnel.
Conditions of Employment If selected for this position, you will be required to:
Obtain and maintain a top secret clearance. Completion of a single scope background investigation is required before appointment.
Submit to a drug test prior to your appointment and random drug testing while you occupy the position.
Certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so, if you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959.
_Physical Demands:_ The work is primarily sedentary but may require some standing, walking, bending, and carrying of light items such as papers, books, files and polygraph equipment. Occasionally, may be required to handle equipment of medium weight.
_Work Environment:_ The incumbent works in an office setting. Occasional travel within the United States is required. Occasional overtime may also be required.

You qualify for the GS-05 level if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-04 level performing duties such as: utilizing standard office equipment, i.e., computers, copiers, fax machines, etc., to prepare various reports of examinations; updating databases and distributing official examinations; maintaining files/records, logging requests for examinations; and processing time and attendance reports; OR
4 years above high school; OR
A combination of successfully completed post-high school education and experience. This will be calculated using your r sum and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application.
