Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to influence federal legislative and regulatory policy internal political communications. This person will work alongside internal business partners and external audiences to communicate the company's views and positions with key stakeholders including federal government third-party interest groups customers and other business representatives and executives. This person will help provide focus and gain consensus on the prioritization of key issues and help communicate those to internal and external audiences that is aligned with the business strategy vision culture and values of the company. He/she will also collaborate with the public relations, social media community and state government relations and insights to monitor and analyze communication and consumer trends to better inform the prioritization of key issues. The Vice President of Government Affairs will assign this person issues critical to business objectives to lobby on legislative and regulatory matters. He/she will attend hearings coordinate meetings with key lawmakers and participate in briefings trade association meetings and coalition meetings on issues critical to the financial and operational success of the business. He/she will partner with NGOs and trade associations to further educate legislators and their staffs on issues of importance to Tyson Foods. He/she will provide written and verbal updates and relevant reports to the Vice President of Government Affairs, SVP of Global Government Affairs and Executive Vice President Corporate affairs and will work with internal subject-matter experts and stakeholders to best represent the needs of Tyson Foods. Responsibilities include:
Communicating Tyson issues with Federal constituents; representing Tyson at briefings hearings political events and congressional offices; assisting in the development and execution of legislative strategy on behalf of Tyson. Requirements Education:
Requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an academic field directly related and essential to the position being evaluated.
Experience:
8 plus years lobbying or government experience and advanced communications skills. Computer Skills:
Basic computer skills; ability to work in Microsoft Office Suite.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Government & MilitaryEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
