POSITION PROFILE The Data Scientist will lead and expand the implementation of data science and machine learning models inside Ricoh's Marketing department. The Data Scientist's primary responsibility will be to leverage existing internal and external data to identify trends and relationships that result in actionable recommendations to improve Marketing performance and drive revenue. The Data Scientist is able to communicate findings to business partners and has strong consulting, communication, visualization, and storytelling skills. The Data Scientist will work with the Customer Reporting and Digital Analytics teams to develop and pilot predictive models for Sales. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Understand key business needs and questions from Marketing stakeholders Gather data from internal and external data sources, working with Customer Reporting and Digital Analytics team; automate, cleanse and validate data Lead analysis of internal and external data to identify trends, relationships and to answer key business questions From analysis, identify key insights and generate actionable recommendations to improve Marketing performance and drive revenue Design, build, test, validate, iterate and maintain predictive and statistical models; deploy and run machine learning algorithms Incorporate a variety of statistical and machine learning techniques such as logistic regression, experimental design, generalized linear models, mixed modeling, CHAID/decision trees, neural networks, ARIMA, and ensemble models Create data visualizations to distill complex datasets and modeling into easy to understand visuals Work with Manager to present and gain alignment from Marketing leadership on recommended actions; influence decision-makers of business benefits of models and recommendations Work with stakeholders to operationalize and implement predictive models and algorithms across various Marketing tools and platforms Partner with and in some cases lead third party partners / agency as needed to support analytics and modeling projects Work with team leaders to build short and long term vision for data science practice inside Marketing Share data science best practices within Marketing and across the organization to build data science community and knowledge Provide inputs and perspective to Customer Reporting and Digital Analytics team on data infrastructure, tools, software (AI and machine learning) and processes to improve modeling, efficiencies and automation; support business case for investment in tools and technology QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications) - Work
Experience:
3-5 years work experience in data science, statistics, analytics, business intelligence - Education:
degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, statistics, computer science; graduate degree preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Understanding of statistical programming and scripting in a language (R or Python preferred) - Experience with machine learning, data cleansing and data visualization - Experience with SQL - Experience with Google Marketing Platform, Google Analytics and Google Big Query strongly preferred - Knowledge of statistical concepts such as regression, time series, mixed model, Bayesian, clustering - In addition to strong technical skills, has business acumen and can apply business logic to data and validate that the data makes sense - Ideally, has experience with Oracle tools and systems (Sales Cloud, Eloqua, Hyperion, OBIEE) but not required - Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset - Proactive in building workplans, building models and developing recommendations - Uses sound judgment to identify issues and escalates when appropriate - Resolve disagreements and conflicts constructively, knows when to involve others - Ability to identify key needs or gaps and provide leadership recommendations to close those gaps - Communication skills:

Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically with less than 10 lbs. (e.g., papers, books, files and small parts, etc.). - Moderate dexterity - regular application of basic skills (calculator, keyboard, hand tools, eye/hand coordination. Compensation Range is:
$100,000-$130,000
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
