The Role In this role, you'll partner with analysts and strategists in executing and analyzing groundbreaking fundraising and marketing campaigns that inspire change. You'll design, build, and manage the systems and processes which form the underpinning of Blue State's analytics and martech work, supporting and working alongside data analysts and campaign strategists. You'll also work directly with an inspiring mix of clients - from enterprise nonprofits to advocacy organizations to innovative brands - to help solve their data integrity and integration challenges, serving as a trusted advisor to your counterparts within client organizations. Leveraging your experience with data management, analysis, and architecture, you will tackle data and marketing challenges of varying shapes and sizes and help bring intricate digital experiences and journeys to life. Your skills may be used to pull insights from data to inform campaign strategy, build measurement and reporting tools, and support orchestration of cross-channel journeys and automation. There will be plenty of room for innovating, learning, and leading along the way. Day-to-day responsibilities and expectations As an Analytics Engineer at Blue State, you will:
Operate across a range of data platforms and tools (BigQuery, Data Studio, DBT) and marketing technology (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, EveryAction, Engaging Networks, etc). Create and support systems and processes for managing, compiling, manipulating, and analyzing data for client and internal projects, including but not limited to:
paid media performance, web traffic and user behavior, and email and mobile marketing. Code primarily in Python and SQL, though familiarity with other modern scripting languages is a plus. Work with internal teams and clients to solve difficult data migration, management, and integration challenges. Build data pipelines, data warehouses, reporting dashboards, automated exports, and synchronization processes. Automate workflows and look for further opportunities to improve efficiency in our work. Always maintain a high level of data security and privacy. Plan measurement strategies for key performance indicators, develop and execute testing plans, and monitor existing properties to ensure all tracking and data collection works properly. Advise and oversee the technical side of cross-channel program execution and reporting, ensuring data integrity and proper audience targeting. Support during rapid response moments, when we need to move fast to launch or monitor a campaign. Act nimbly in high-pressure moments. Other qualifications and skills Technical:
Experience with data dashboarding and reporting using solutions such as Google Data Studio, Google Cloud / Google BigQuery, and other connectors and API solutions such as (Supermetrics, Stitch, DBT, Fivetran, Frakture, etc). Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence platforms not mentioned above, such as Redshift, Snowflake, Tableau, or Domo is a plus. Experience with web analytics suites such as Google Analytics. Experience with A/B testing solutions such as Google Optimize, Optimizely, or equivalent is desirable. Comfortable working within a spreadsheet (even if you prefer a database) - preferably in Google Sheets. Familiarity with simple development workflows using Github (branching, pull requests, continuous deployment) and maintains good habits around code maintenance. Able to build repeatable and well-documented processes and tools that can be used by other technically savvy but non-Python developer analytics team members (think easy to use command-line scripts - not GUIs). Teamwork and leadership:
Strong communication and collaboration with others across disciplines, including strategists, analysts, and developers. Good at communicating and teaching others what you know. Awareness of the latest trends in data management and a POV on how/whether we should take advantage of them to evolve our data practice and push our clients' programs forward. Knowledge of marketing automation and the latest innovations in marketing technology. Ability to adapt to new situations, solve problems on the fly, and communicate with those around you. Teamwork and scrappiness required.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
