Job Category Underwriting Target Openings 1 Job Description Summary The Portfolio Manager, BI Underwriting & Quality Assurance Compliance provides objective, independent, risk-based underwriting and/or compliance quality assurance reviews (QARs) for an assigned portfolio (Construction and Oil & Gas) within Business Insurance.
The incumbent is responsible for underwriting and/or compliance quality assurance execution and results communication.
The position holder additionally serves as the business liaison to Corporate Audit, Corporate Compliance and Legal for underwriting and/or compliance quality assurance-related issues.
The position can be located in any remote location.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain accountability for the complete and accurate execution of the underwriting quality review process and results for their assigned business unit(s).

Collaborate with local management staff and account executives to ensure consistency in underwriting quality and execution.
Develop productive working relationships with their business partners and foster an environment of trust and mutual respect.

Analyze and communicate QAR results to assigned business unit(s) on a consistent basis.
Create substantive corrective action plans to address corresponding identified trends.
Monitor the corrective action plans and obtain evidence to confirm their proper implementation.

Participate and/or lead training sessions designed to improve underwriting quality, when appropriate.

Assist with answering questions from Enterprise Underwriting, BI Underwriting, BI Product, Corporate Audit, Corporate Compliance (internal) and state regulators (external) regarding issues within their assigned business unit.

Ensure consistency among underwriting and/or compliance quality assurance functions and quality assurance results across the business.

Oversee the QAR process and results; track completion of required assessments.

Proactively coach field managers and account executives to enhance their underwriting skills.

Lead or participate in projects, when appropriate.

Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
5 years of compliance, underwriting, claim, product or relevant quality assurance experience required.
Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge
Bachelor's degree preferred.

7 years of compliance, underwriting, claim, product or relevant quality assurance experience preferred.

Knowledge/experience with Construction and/or Oil & Gas preferred.
Licensing or Certificates
CPCU, CIA, or CPA preferred.
Job Specific Technical Skills & Competencies
General knowledge of commercial property and casualty insurance business, systems and products.

General knowledge of risk assessment, technology and auditing principles.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
