Program Manager

Job Summary Program Manager for MedStar Washington Hospital Center- Community Violence Intervention Program (MWHC-CVIP). MWHC-CVIP is funded by DC Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants and the Governor's Office of Crime Control and Prevention of Maryland to provide support to survivors of violent injury. The Program Manager oversees the conduct and administration of the program and report to the PI at least three times weekly. Minimum Qualifications Education/Training Bachelors Degree in related health care discipline or equivalent experience. Masters Degree preferred. Experience 2 years of research experience and 5 years of experience in Clinical Research (preferably with Certification in Clinical Research), with experience participating in clinical research protocol implementation. License/Certification/Registration CITI Certification or eligible to obtain. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Well organized, proficient in training research personnel; Experienced in public speaking/defining goals and presenting them; Adept at utilizing members of the team to contribute their best, commensurate with their abilities; Responsive to suggestions/feedback from others; Capable of contributing during planning meetings, and team player-good working relationship with team members; Presents an enthusiastic and positive attitude toward problem solving. Well schooled in ethics of human research. Good understanding of research protocol development. Able to contribute as a member of a scientific clinical research team. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Develops and contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Ensures compliance with hospital/facility policies and procedures and governmental/accreditation regulations. Oversees all aspects of research grants and clinical trials at the investigative site(s) by working directly with the Principal Investigator and support staff at the sites. Prepares sites for initiation by working closely with each grant/clinical trial sponsor. This includes (but is not limited to):
training and overseeing clinical research coordinator(s)/ data coordinator through compilation of all necessary research documentation (i.e., IRB submissions, database creation, management, and where necessary, data entry). Helps to recruit new collaborative sites, if needed. Troubleshoots ongoing issues/ problems at sites and with grants - act as an intermediary between site staff/ research team (i.e., biostatistician, other grant/ trial affiliated personnel) and PI. Prepares interim, annual, and other progress reports/updates, including appropriate data analysis, per grant. Clinical trial protocol specifications, to be reviewed by PI. Assists with preparation of new grant submissions/ trials, including budgeting and budget justifications, literature reviews and data generation. Helps to prepare subcontracts/ consulting agreements, if necessary, with all the sites. Facilitates all grant/ trial close-out procedures/ requirements, to be reviewed by PI. Assists with abstract and manuscript preparation. Develops an administrative Standard Operations Procedures Manual to be shared with site staff, to be reviewed by PI. Develops site specific Manuals of Operations Procedures with the site support staff and PI. Holds weekly meetings with PI and staff regarding grant metrics timelines to ensure grant compliance is maintained and deadlines are met. Meets as needed with SC A/Administrative Manager to discuss financial standings. Helps recruit new investigative sites, if needed. Responsible for documentation of all the above described events. Consistently demonstrates support for compliance in the performance of job duties and responsibilities by a) developing and maintaining knowledge of, and performing job functions in compliance with, rules, regulations, policies, and statutes that affect his/her job; b) maintaining knowledge of and performing job functions in compliance with MedStar Health and MedStar Health Research Institute policies and procedures; and c) reporting compliance concerns in an appropriate and timely manner. Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate. Participates in meetings, serves on committees and represents the department and hospital/facility in community outreach efforts as appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
