The Sr Director, DEI Business Partner will become a key member of Splunk's global DEI Leadership Team. Serving as a strategic thought partner to the global Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) and responsible for enabling our business with strategically bold leadership and integrated programming that enables breakout growth for DEI at Splunk. In addition to leading DEI within the business, this role will partner closely with the CDO to build our global DEI strategy and capability, contribute to program innovation, and to lead a passionate DEI team to deliver on the company's ambitious DEI agenda. This role will act as a consultant to senior leaders across the enterprise, providing expert DEI advising, executive coaching, insights and solutions that enable leadership development and address critical business opportunities. For Organizational Effectiveness & Leadership Development, you will diagnose and clearly articulate the root causes of organizational performance. Anticipate the need for change, and influence action before a crisis or inflection point arrives. You will conduct leadership assessment and organizational planning to identify next generation leaders, collaborating with local and global HR and related talent processes as needed. This individual will partner closely with business and HR leaders expansive of People Analytics, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, and other key collaborators. They will assess opportunities, create DEI strategies and plans, and support execution through coaching, advising, thought leadership and expert collaboration. The role will serve as a crucial diversity partner to ensure that DEI remains actively prioritized and is effectively integrated into and enables Splunk's overall business strategy! The selected leader will bring intellectual rigor, data and insights, strategically bold ideas, and effective communications to conversations - having a strong point of view and influence on executive approaches and actions relative to DEI. Key responsibilities include:
Develop highly targeted and adaptable DEI plans that are informed by robust and sophisticated analytics, meet the business where it is, and can lead it through a thoughtful, intuitive and integrated DEI growth journey. Works closely across HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Talent Management and other crucial HR partners to assess and build best in class processes and programs that support the diversity strategy and help us to deliver on our DEI aspirations. Will lead the development of next-in-class programming and innovative approaches to attract, develop, promote and retain women and underrepresented groups (URG). Develop, maintain and lead DEI data to advise and build insights that serve to advance our stated DEI objectives. Advise on performance and quarterly rewards planning processes and compensation activities during the year. Ensure end-to-end HR service delivery by maintaining partnership across all HR functions. Connect leaders and employees with appropriate HR Resources. In partnership with HR Business Partners and Employee Relations, apply sophisticated knowledge of employment law, experience and good judgment to help address relevant labor relations issues as needed. This might include supporting the development of Performance Improvement Plans, conducting employee meetings, contributing to internal investigations, and facilitating exit interviews. Act as the Splunk Cultural advocate and steward; propose and initiate ideas to improve Splunk culture and employee engagement. Develop a solid knowledge of Splunk's business and find opportunities to enable the business through thoughtful and strategic DEI integration. Develop and refine organization-wide and site-specific DEI and talent solutions and practices as needed and/or advised to implement, or with, federal, state and local laws and improve/maintain the quality of Splunk culture. Act as strategic advisor and thought partner across the business, providing high-reaching thought leadership, expert insight, deep expertise and related programming/leadership recommendations.
Qualifications:
Proven track record to partner with business leaders and their teams to set and implement DEI strategy and solutions. Expert communication (written and oral) and consulting skills along with a demonstrated ability to influence and counsel leadership at all levels; ability to lead and motivate change at scale. Shown success in ability to collaborate across functions to identify needs and develop innovative and forward-leaning DEI solutions to drive business impact. Must possess strong analytical skills and problem solving capabilities along with an ability to weave sophisticated analysis into strategic planning, influencing and problem solving. Especially strong project management skills with an ability to effectively plan and prioritize in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment with multiple challenging priorities. Ability to demonstrate emotional intelligence and inspirational and servant leadership that engages the hearts and minds of others, inspires followership and catalyzes important action. Collaboration skills including the ability to integrate and act upon different perspectives. Financial acumen - Understand drivers of shareholder value and relevant business models, and how to translate these into appropriate management and DEI actions. HR acumen - Solid understanding of people leadership and talent management skills. Understanding of current legal, regulatory and governmental labor environment. Ability to enhance relationships, build trust, communicate effectively is required to analyze HR issues and provide information, direction and advice as described. Strong emotional intelligence, communication and presentation skills and the ability to deal effectively and courteously with all levels of employees and management are required. 10
years of dynamically responsible DEI experience required. Global leadership, communications and influencing experience highly preferred. Previous experience in the software or tech industry preferred but not required. Education:
You have solid knowledge of HR/DEI theories, practices and principles as normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in related fields and/or equivalent military experience. Masters Degree preferred not required.
Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+
Minimum Qualification
HR Management, HR Generalists & Business PartnersEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
