Lemont Furnace, PA or Washington, DC AAC is seeking a mid-level Logistics Engineer with 5-10 years experience of supporting large scale programs for the Navy, including transitioning new products onto platforms.
Position SummaryResponsible for leading group of engineers on a technical activity and completion of activity on time and budget.
Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems.
May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments.
Primary and Essential AccountabilitiesInvolved with the analysis of projects/contracts to determine logistics requirementsAnalyze, organize, plan and administer various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, or maintenance/repair activitiesDevelop logistics plans to enhance the distribution of goods and suppliesConduct distribution and network studies, monitor inventory, and analyze requirements to develop strategies in achieving desired delivery timesResponsible for leading group of engineers on a technical activity and completion of activity on time and budgetDesign, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystemsMay use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignmentsReview customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variableProvide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignmentsSpecify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and servicesDrive the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirementsDevelop prototypes to retire key development risksCommunicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as requiredParticipate in preparation of proposalsProvide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnelLead and direct the work of others as assignedSupport, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationSecondary AccountabilitiesAttend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetingsLead less-experienced engineersBasic QualificationsBachelors degree in engineering or related technical fieldMinimum of 5 years of relevant/applicable experienceFluency in technologies and application domainAbility to lead a technical group independentlyAdditional Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and KnowledgeRisk Management experienceFailure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System experienceSystem Documentation Generations experienceTechnical writingConcept of Operations (CONOPS) GenerationPhysical RequirementsLifting (up to 20 lbs.
