This Group is responsible for developing and implementing technological and process solutions to enhance current and future training processes and methods.
Projects include consultation to development and design of proprietary applications, customization of off the shelf applications, strategic planning, management of capital investment programs, and coordinating/socializing research outcomes for new technologies and methods in adult learning.
The Program Manager serves as the Group Manager applies detailed knowledge of project/program management principles and policies to manage a large multi-level geographically dispersed organization consisting of Information Technology (IT) Specialists, engineers, air traffic controllers and senior analysts through subordinate managers.
This staff is responsible for tool development; strategic planning and reporting; project and program management; and, adult learning and technologies research management.
Integrates work of multiple teams to meet the strategic goals of the Directorate and Service Unit.
This work supports operational training development, curriculum architecture, and tools to perform the work and is critical to and directly affects the safe and efficient operation of the National Airspace System (NAS).
The Group Manager develops an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.
Uses a detailed knowledge of budget, human resource management and other administrative policies and procedures.
Defines, acquires, and allocates budget, staff, and other resources to accomplish objectives for multiple organizational units.
Manages group budget and either reallocates resources among organizational units, projects or programs or acquires additional resources as needed.
Leads and integrates the budget planning processes for projects and programs under their control and projects short and long-term future needs.
Applies a thorough understanding of the principles of management and strategic planning, and the ability to integrate the work of multiple organizational units/projects/programs to accomplish mission objectives.
Assigns tasks and responsibilities to subordinate team managers; monitors and evaluates employees, managers and organization's performance; affects hiring decisions; recommends pay increases; and is delegated authority to take conclusive personnel actions involving subordinates.
Is responsible for communicating the organization's vision and objectives, strategic planning and setting priorities.
Coaches and develops staff and organizational capabilities; approves leave; and takes or approves corrective/disciplinary actions as appropriate.
