Eliassen Group is looking for a 100% Remote Big Data Engineer to join a growing and developing team within one of the most state of the art financial institutions in the world.
Our client is one of the leaders with being on the cutting edge of technology and are currently trying to expand their business even more in to the Big Data/ Machine Learning atmosphere.
This project is one of their biggest initiatives and they are looking for top quality talent to join their team and make this program one of the leaders within the world.
Some main technologies and skills we are looking for include:
Spark, Scala, AWS cloud experience and Python for backend scripting (automated and manual/ custom).

Responsibilities of the Big Data Engineer:
Administers data apps w/ solving vulnerability gapsLibrary upgradesRoot Cause analysis for vulnerabilities and data gapsCollaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in data engineering space.
Work with a team of developers with deep experience in Python, Spark and cloud concepts such as (EMR, ECS, Lambda)Utilize programming languages like Python and Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases and Cloud based data warehousing services such as SnowflakeFlexible in experimenting with and learning new technologies, Collaborate with Product owner and Tech lead to solve Business user questions on the data pipelines team supports and resolve infrastructure issues.
'Willingness to learn new tools and technologies as well as help grow lower level developers in the futureRequirements of the Big Data Engineer:
Bachelors Degree in a related field 3 - 5 Years experience with AWS- S3, Lambdas, EMR, EC2Previous large enterprise environment experience is a huge plus3-5
years of Spark and Scala ExperienceExperience with Python scripting and AWS correlation Shell ScriptingExperience building Automated Pipelines (Jenkins).
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
