Associate Director, Global Public Policy

Job DescriptionThe Associate Director is responsible for providing support for and coordination of public policy initiatives & advocacy related to our Company's therapeutic area franchises addressing non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
The scope includes developing and executing public policy strategies for non-communicable disease therapeutic areas on a global level, including in non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), cardiovascular diseases, chronic cough, and other NCD-related therapeutic areas.
The position is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and responding to public policy issues, developing our Company's positions and advocating in support of our Company's strategic business priorities in these areas.
In conjunction with the Global Franchise teams, the cross-functional Global Commercial Teams, regional and country teams, the senior policy team, and the broader Global Policy, Communications, and Population Health (PCPH) teams, the Associate Director will help to develop and execute our Company's global plan in support of the non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), cardiovascular disease, chronic cough, and other in-line or new therapeutic areas.
Primary ActivitiesSupport development and manage implementation of annual global public policy strategic plan aligned with the therapeutic area Global Commercial Team strategy.
Coordinate development of our Company's public policy positions in coordination with Director, NCDs, Global Public Policy, senior policy management and PCPH stakeholders, and with the Franchise and Global Commercial Team, and other internal stakeholders and manage communication internally and externally, as appropriate.
Engage relevant internal stakeholders to ensure our Company's advocacy with public policy agencies and organizations is coordinated, consistent and effective.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key governmental and non-governmental stakeholders, including patient advocacy groupsRepresent our Company in industry and other external policy related for a through formal presentations to and other communications with external stakeholders active in the therapeutic area policy arenaEngage with regional and country policy teams to provide strategic guidance and policy coordination to support the Global Commercial Team on public policy issues.

Qualifications:
Education Minimum Requirement:
BS/BA required.
Master's or graduate degree in a field related to health care policy strongly preferred.
Required Experience and Skills:
Minimum 4 years of experience addressing public policy issues and strong knowledge of issues related to non-communicable diseases or a related area of healthcareAt least 1 year within the global policy space preferredExperience with and expert knowledge of government and non-governmental organizations active on public policy issues required.
Strong knowledge of healthcare public policy processes including understanding the roles and influence of various stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to identify strategic priorities, work within a matrix organization to bring together different internal stakeholders, and develop and manage policy projects forward to resolution and action.
Experience managing consultants and budgets.
Ability to work collaboratively and inclusively essential.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

The ideal/primary location is Washington DC however may be open to work out of our offices in Upper Gwynedd PA and Kenilworth, NJ with 25% or more travel to Washington, DC may be required.
