HelpDutiesPerforms multiple, varying, and complex assignments related to analyzing and implementing records, directives and knowledge management programs and initiatives within the Office of NextGen (ANG) and its Management Services directorate (ANG-A) under minimal direction of manager.
Works collaboratively with executives, managers, employees and designated liaisons across ANG as well as with selected managers and subject matter experts in AFN and other Line of Business or Staff Offices to achieve efficient and economical program/initiative execution and to promote innovation and continuous improvement.
Applies experience and comprehensive knowledge to lead and mature the ANG Records Management Program and the associated practices in-use organization-wide.
Conducts periodic assessments and quality control reviews/audits to measure effectiveness of current records management practices and identify improvement opportunities.
Plans and leads execution of improvement initiatives with highest likelihood of success.
Builds workforce desire, knowledge and ability to properly file, maintain and dispose of records, and recommends to ANG leadership means of reinforcing desired behaviors.
Facilitates transition of paper records to electronic records, coordinates proper disposal of records, and manages adoption of existing agency-sponsored tools and systems to the fullest extent possible.
Ensures ANG is in compliance with agency records management policies and requirements to include records inventories and file plans.
Identifies and evaluates approaches to capture, share and reuse information assets and expertise to advance individuals and organizational learning, continuous improvement, and mission accomplishment.
Examples include dashboards, portals, peer assists, after action reviews, expertise locators, and communities of practice.
Recommends, promotes, and supports implementation of approaches with the highest likelihood of success.
Independently develops performance measures and practical implementation methods, and conducts document findings of measurement activates to help drive progress and change.
Develops and delivers progress briefings and reports that engage the audience, address needs, and influence decisions.
Resolves most problems and work issues without the assistance of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional.
Develops and recommends approaches to address current and anticipated problems and issues.
Works with management and/or more experienced professionals to solve problems.
Applies established policies/procedures provides guidance for most assignments, but allow considerable discretion for employee to select the most appropriate approach(es) or develop new approaches.
Assignments regularly require interpretation of internal and external policies and extrapolation from precedents.
Work is reviewed rarely, typically through status reports and at project completion, to ensure policy compliance and alignment with the requirements of projects and/or other work activities.
