Policy Analyst

Individual provides technical and analytical support to a wide range of actions in the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters (ODASD(NM)) regarding the national strategic deterrent.
Nature of work actively engages issues, actions and initiatives concerning, or relating to, the management, research, development, deployment, transportation, safety, security, storage, and training for the stewardship of nuclear weapons.
Particular emphasis includes the national nuclear stockpile; nuclear weapons operations; emergency response and consequence management; nuclear enterprise and infrastructure transformation; stockpile sustainment; nuclear weapon program requirements; and strategic deterrence policy.
Fulfillment of these responsibilities entails research and analysis support to the Nuclear Weapons Council (NWC), the NWC Standing and Safety Committee (NWCSSC) and the NWC action officer's group and will contribute to the preparation of joint, annual DoD/DOE reports for delivery to the President and/or to the Congress.
Assists in the development and coordination of reports, reviews documents, contributes to studies or task forces, and prepares papers, staff summaries, and briefings.
Maintains status of reports from initial drafts and comment adjudication through fully-coordinated documents.
Assists in maintaining NWC files, the NWC SharePoint site, and with office organization.
Provides meeting support such as building escort, operating audio-visual equipment, note-taking, drafting meeting minutes, and updating NWC SharePoint website in support of the ODASD(NM), as directed.
This a Full Time role at the Pentagon.
Education:
Bachelor's degree (BA, BS or BBA) is required.
Major in chemistry, mathematics, physics, nuclear physics, nuclear engineering, political sciences, international security studies/national security studies (with a minimum of six or more college level courses in statistics, mathematics, engineering, or physical sciences), is preferred.
Required Skills:
Proficient writer/communicator.
Must be knowledgeable of basic statistics, algebra and geometry.
Familiarity with Excel, Power Point and MS Word user-level applications is a necessity.
All applicants for this position must have an active Top Secret clearance and be able to obtain a Top Secret SCI security clearance in order to be considered for employment.
Must be able to work at customer site at the Pentagon in support of senior management or executives with little supervision for sustained periods.
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of US nuclear weapons policy, operations and acquisition/procurement, to include command and control, forces, stockpile, operations, surety and nuclear security issues and activities.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
