HelpDutiesThe Computer Scientist serves as the Front-End Developer for AJV-P12 and provides developer and programmer support and assistance to AJV-P on the design, development, and implementation of appropriate policy or guidance through publications.
Responsible for updates and maintenance of key air traffic orders, manuals, and publications with the use of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, XML, and XSLT programming languages.
Performs Section 508 compliance, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.
AA) verification and remediation.
Additionally, performs publication functions for major Air Traffic Control directives to incorporate changes and generate the final product necessary to multiple delivery channels.
Applies experience and advanced technical knowledge of computer science methods and techniques to store, manipulate, transform, or present information by means of computer systems for solving complex problems and develop improved technical processes or systems.
The Computer Scientist demonstrates experience with web services using REST API or GraphQL.
As the SharePoint administrator, monitors user permission policies, customize and site collection and sub-site information for SharePoint.
Writes testable code, maintains web applications, and transform information.
Uses appropriate development tools to solve AJV-P application requirements.
Analyzes user requirements, design multiple AJV-P intranet and internet sites, configures and deploys analytical tools for user experience improvement, and extract data from the analytical tools to provide metrics to support management decision making.
Conducts analyses in the review and evaluation of program activities to ensure proper program integration and conformance to FAA and ATO policies, completeness, and adequacy of operations in meeting goals and objectives.
Applies knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint Power Platform to design and deploy multiple dashboards, metrics, and intranet sites for AJV-P.
Uses Microsoft SharePoint Online to contribute to the creation of document templates to support all National Airspace System (NAS) changes within the AJV-P directorate.
Contributes to the development of business work flows in Microsoft SharePoint to automate and support NAS document change procedures within AJV-P.
Uses Agency web content platform to update and maintain various sites including the AJV-P intranet site, air traffic interpretations site, and other websites as required.
Assists more experienced professionals in the creation of materials pertaining to processing National Airspace System (NAS) changes and procedures associated with NAS change case files.
Defines, plans and organizes assigned resources to accomplish organizational objectives.
Identifies and informs management of problems that require their attention.
Often develops and recommends techniques to address problem situations.
Establishes policies/procedures to provide guidance for most assignments, but allow considerable discretion to select the most appropriate approach or to recommend new approaches.
Assignments typically require solutions that are to be derived by interpreting and extrapolating from situations that were faced in the past.
Provides recommendations to improve work processes.

To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as:
Experience analyzing and maintaining internal websites and developing metrics.
Experience conducting analyses in the review and evaluation of program activities to ensure proper program integration and conformance.
