Clarification from the agencyOpen to current permanent FAA EmployeesHelpDutiesThe incumbent of this position will serve as a IT Specialist (Security) in the Security Operations Division, AIS-300.
He/She will be a liaison officer which will be a liaise between the FAA and the other member organizations of the NCIJTF.
The liaison officer will minimally report to the Chantilly office twice a week , unless otherwise directed.
The liaison will also be required as needed or as requested by management to work from Leesburg, VA, Washington, DC, other local destinations, and other non-local travel destinations.
The liaison officer position is an operational position, which may require long hours from time to time as well as work in the evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Serves as liaison officer with the NCIJTF to coordinate between the FAA/DOT and the NCIJTF.
Collaborate with FAA/DOT Cybersecurity stakeholders, including, but not limited to, the AIS-300 Security Operations Division in the Office of Information and Technology line of business (LOB) the National Airspace Cyber Operations (NCO) organization in the Air Traffic Organization(ATO) LOB, and the Intelligence & Threat Analysis Division in the Security and Hazardous Materials Safety LOB.
Evaluate, analyze, and synthesize large quantities of data (which may be fragmented and contradictory) into high quality, fused targeting/intelligence products that identify all threats especially targeted threats to DOT and FAA and the Transportation and Aviation critical infrastructure.
Collaborate with partners and stakeholders, the candidate will be formulate requirement for acquisition or implementation of various threat intelligence solutions, and represent the equities of the Security Operations CenterDevelop relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders to promote greater information sharing.
Assist in the identification of intelligence collection gaps and shortfalls.
Create Threat Models to understand the Agency IT Enterprise better, identify defensive gaps, and prioritize mitigationsUtilize Threat Intelligence and Threat Models to create threat hypothesesCollaborate with stakeholders, maintain a common intelligence picture.
Answer requests for information from internal and external stakeholdersAssist in coordinating, validating, and managing all-source collection requirements, plans, and/or activities.
Conduct in-depth research and analysis.
Participate and at times lead the evaluation of the threat decision-making processes.
Provide subject-matter expertise and support to planning/developmental forums and working groups as appropriate.
Provide evaluation and feedback necessary for improving intelligence production, intelligence reporting, collection requirements, and operations.
Provide information and assessments for the purposes of informing leadership and customers; developing and refining objectives; supporting operation planning and execution; and assessing the effects of operations.
Provide intelligence analysis and support to designated exercises, planning activities, and time sensitive operations.
Work closely with planners, intelligence analysts, and collection managers to ensure intelligence requirements and collection plans are accurate and up-to-date.
