In this position you will exercises broad executive level management authority in but not limited to the following:
Exercising broad executive level management authority in directing, managing, and overseeing the day-to-day operational workforce of the Personnel Security Division, with knowledge and experience in this area as a requirement as the work impacts CBP's headquarters and field operations through providing personnel security to CBP;Determining the goals and objectives of the CBP Personnel Security Division, ensuring subordinate organizations and operating units meet program needs, developing measures that track, evaluate, and report performance of efforts, making recommendations for program improvement, and managing all resources;Monitoring the progress of programs and assures that all are conducted pursuant to national policies, procedures, and laws; providing team members with direction, technical guidance, and instruction to successfully complete audit, compliance, and investigative objectives timely, efficiently, and effectively;Conducting extensive evaluations of program goals and objectives and directing adjustments to assure each complies with rapidly changing and expanding agency missions specific to security management; and coordinating, creating and implementing policies and program changes both internal and external to CBP; andServing as a liaison to the Department of Homeland Security personnel security community and the federal personnel security community at large.

Qualifications
Experience:
You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
Evaluating and monitoring analytical support to law enforcement or counter-threat operations, analysis to identify internal and external threats to an agency;Providing oversight and direction to agency personnel on complex and sensitive matters relating to investigations of alleged employee and contractor misconduct; andBriefing senior agency leaders on analytical methodologies, findings or new or proposed policies.

Background Investigation:
US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a federal law enforcement agency that requires all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment in order to promote the agency's core values of vigilance, service to country, and integrity.

Residency:
There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP.
Individuals are required to have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates (as declared under international law) for at least three of the last five years.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
