Summary This position is located in the Department of Justice, Executive Secretariat (ExecSec).
The ExecSec Staff controls all written communications coming into and emanating from the Executive Offices (ie, the Offices of the Attorney General, the Deputy Attorney General, and the Associate Attorney General).
ExecSec personnel also provide records management services, including storage of classified material and document searches.

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Processes correspondence in an automated correspondence/document control system.
Ensures correspondence packages have all the background and supporting documentation.
Reviews and coordinates letters and other documents.
Develops and enforces due dates and quality standards for all letters and documents signed by the leadership offices.
Applies analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to the measurement and improvement of program effectiveness and/or organizational productivity.
Reviews and analyzes complex documents and writes a synopsis for action by designated component.

You may be required to complete a one-year probationary or two-year trial period.

Qualifications To qualify for the position of Correspondence Management Analyst at (GS-0301-9/11), you must possess the required specialized experience specific to the series and grade you are applying to.
If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade.
Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF-50 (please refer to the required documents section for additional information).
For the GS-09 Specialized
Experience:
For the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service.
Specialized experience is defined as:
Reviewing correspondence for correct grammar, punctuation, or spelling; Preparing a variety of written documents; AND Utilizing office automation applications for word processing, graphics, spreadsheets, or databases.
OR Education:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.

or JD in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR Combination of Education and
Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.
Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18.
Add the two percentages.
Time-in-Grade Requirement:
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
For the GS-11 Specialized
Experience:
For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service.
Specialized experience is defined as:
Providing technical assistance or training on correspondence management; Reviewing correspondence for proper procedures or grammatical accuracy; AND Preparing technical specifications for the operation of an electronic correspondence or document tracking system.

or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.

in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR Combination of Education and
Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
