UX/UI Designer

ECS is seeking a UX/UI Designer to work in our Washington, DC office.
ECS is seeking a talented, driven UI/UX Designer to join our team helping our national security customers achieve deeper stakeholder engagement through the iterative, research-driven, user-centered design of their core applications and websites.
In this role, you will lead efforts to design mission critical applications and websites that provide seamless user experiences driven by modern, innovative interfaces.
The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience leveraging user-centered design principles and practices, including leading user research methodologies and interface design standards, to guide the delivery of dynamic applications and websites that exceed the expectations of both clients and end users.
You will work closely with the ECS team and our federal customer to ensure the efficient delivery of applications and websites that drive mission success.
Job
Responsibilities:
Manage the planning, design, and implementation of multiple sites and applications across multiple clients simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Lead all phases of user research and analysis needed to inform the creation of highly usable web pages, application interfaces, and other dynamic solutions.
Collaborate with federal practice engineers and federal clients to define, design, and implement innovative, beautiful, intuitive solutions for use by our federal customer and their stakeholders.
Create wireframes, storyboards, and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas for websites and applications.
Create scalable design resources to aid in project collaboration and the expansion of ECS creative services.
Required Skills:
Must be a US CitizenMust be able to obtain a Public TrustBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience5years combined professional design experience (UCD, UI/UX design, CX, Design Research)Strong online portfolio that showcases the candidate's ability to make research-driven decisions in the design of responsive web and mobile applicationsResults-oriented problem solver with high standards for quality, accuracy, attention to detail, and overall excellenceExpertise in user research methodologies, user centered design principles and frameworks, and user interface design standardsAdvanced understanding of user personas, user flows, affinity mapping, and other research tools Strong understanding of the life cycle process of website development (discovery, planning, design, requirements, coding, testing, and user testing and evaluation)Experience evaluating existing systems and processes to identify UX issues and develop UX recommendationsExperience designing web and mobile applications that are compliant with 508 and US Web Design System (USWDS) standardsExperience prioritizing features while accounting for user goals and business requirementsExperience carrying designs from start to finish, from wireframes to delivery of final high fidelity UI mockupsExperience establishing and maintaining rapid customer feedback loops to inform design at critical stagesSelf-starter, motivated, confident and has ability to work independently as well as in a team environmentSuccess on projects designed from scratch as well as redesigns for established platforms or productsExperience mentoring/leading junior designersAdvanced coding knowledge (HTML, CSS, and JS)Advanced proficiency in Adobe xD, InDesign, Illustrator, and PhotoshopDesired Skills:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
