Job Purpose or
Summary:
The Software Asset Manager will be responsible for receiving, managing, and tracking all IT Software assets.
Provides daily and long-term management of software managed within the company.
This includes planning, monitoring, recording, and tracking software licenses to ensure compliance with license agreements and usage standards, service agreements, maintenance and warranties.
The individual will assist in forming procurement strategies to optimize technology spend across the organization.
The IT Software Asset Manager will also develop and implement procedures for tracking IT software assets across the enterprise.
Responsibilities:
Developing and maintaining well documented policies, standards, processes, controls, and workflows that enable software asset management throughout all stages of the software lifecycle Entering and maintaining information on software assets into the approved asset tracking system to address budgeting, software compliance & inventory, contracts (maintenance and service agreements), and cost.
Assist in the development of reporting to address management requirements to obtain information Providing recommendations for software procurements based on utilization and support needs Serving as a liaison with other departments as necessary to forecast future technology needs Identifying savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and services Assisting with the implementation, management and use of software discovery processes and procedures to aid in accurately tracking software deployed at the Bureau Working with Configuration Management, Change Management and the ServiceNow teams to utilize discovery and normalization to track software at the Bureau Defining metrics, gather data, and reports effectiveness of IT software asset management processes Providing recommendations for improvements that will aid the company in effectively and efficiently managing software assets throughout the enterprise.
Qualifications:
Minimum seven (7) years' experience with IT software procurement, purchasing and/or asset management Strong knowledge of software/hardware asset life cycle management processes planning, acquisition, deployment, monitoring, and disposal Strong knowledge utilizing and implementing software asset management tools, including automated discovery configuration Desired-CITAM:
Certified IT Asset Manager OR CSAM:
Certified Software Asset Manager.

US Citizenship required.
