The Virtual Networking Team builds the highly customizable Virtual Cloud Networks (VCN) and connectivity services offering predictable and consistent performance, isolation, and availability.

ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Member of Technical Staff on the Dataplane team, you will design and develop major core components of Oracle's Virtual Cloud Network.
You will be responsible for delivering high-speed packet processing architectures and other distributed systems that provide networking features such as TCP/UDP packet processing, access controls, metrics, and monitoring dashboards.
QualificationsYou are an expert coder with networking and embedded system experience.

years distributed cloud engineering experience in a software development environmentExperience developing service-oriented architectures and web services security solutionsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiencesExcellent in making high impact judgement calls during a large scale operational eventsUnderstand fundamental network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and etcProficient at programming in Java/Python or other OOP languagesProficient with Linux and experienced with shell scripting languagesBachelors in computer science and engineering or related engineering fieldsPreferred
Qualifications:
Deep understanding of object-oriented design and SDK development, specifically within a cloud environmentFamiliarity and understanding of distributed computing and cloud-based platforms.
Understanding of cross-functional platform feature areas in cloud platforms.
Masters / PhD degree in Computer Science or related engineering fieldsThis is a fully remote role.
