VideosHelpDutiesYou will Develop and manage new public engagement and outreach programs that strengthen EPA's partnerships with Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs), Minority Serving Institutes (MSIs) and relevant organizations and stakeholders; Serve as the Agency's primary HBCU-MSI Public Engagement and Outreach Specialist interfacing with HBCU/MSI stakeholders and communities; Develop public engagement/outreach strategies/events to inform the public on new initiatives, upcoming regulations, laws, guidance, or tools, and determine how these initiatives should be communicated clearly/transparently following Agency or White House guidance and protocol; Collaborate with the Office of Public Engagement and Environmental Education (OPEEE) team to work on public engagement and outreach activities that span across a variety of subject matters not specific to HBCUs/MSIs.

LI-DNIQualificationsWe are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-14 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-13 level defined as determining the effectiveness of communication plans to effectively engage with MSIs or organizations associated with Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA); developing/designing programs with a DEIA focus; and fostering relationships with various stakeholders.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
1) Knowledge of outreach strategies; 2) Knowledge of HBCUs/MSIs programs and activities; 3) Ability to assess various outreach/communication methods; 4) Skill in oral communication; 5) Skill in written communication; 6) Ability to plan events; 7) Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships in both academia and government.
