NewsNation is currently searching for a staff Studio Technician for our nationally broadcast shows originating from our Washington DC studio.
Responsibilities:

The successful candidate must have a solid understanding of live production elements, specifically news production, and be able to operate live broadcast equipment.

Perform functions including, but not limited to:
A2, stagehand & robotic camera operation.

Must know how to deliver high quality broadcasts, have a passion for journalism and thrive in the technical news production environment.

May be asked to train others or create training documentation.

Must be able to communicate and document effectively and concisely to the rest of the team.

All day parts (mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays) may be a part of the schedule with overtime as situations and breaking news demand.
Qualifications:

Five plus (5+) years experience in professional live television broadcast operations required.

Be detail-oriented and be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Other engineering/broadcast operations experience in areas of routing, CGs, video playback, wiring & signal flow a plus.

Candidate should be a problem solver and quick thinker to resolve existing issues and to work around problems that arise during live news, be self-sufficient and have a press-on-regardless attitude.

Must work well in a collaborative team environment.

Working knowledge of common business software applications, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Bachelors degree in Communications or related field preferred.

This position will require shift work which may include nights, weekends, and holidays, along with overtime as situations and breaking news demand.
