About the Job POSITION SUMMARY The Director, Marketing and Communication works across association departments to develop and execute strategic communication and marketing plans to support the association's mission as well as engagement and revenue goals while maintaining brand and messaging consistency.
This includes oversight of the day-to-day operation of the communication staff, their training, the tools they use, and the medium of their communication including but not limited to the association website, social media, email, e-newsletters, blogs, and advancement of brand awareness and visibility efforts in the field.
Salary Range:
$100,000 - $130,000 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Establish, maintain, and enforce data-informed communication policies, protocols and procedures that prioritize member engagement and promote work with cross-functional department contacts to develop new communications programs and initiatives.
Collaborate with departments to establish data-informed departmental goals and metrics and monitor performance and results.
Actively engage, cultivate, and manage media relationships to generate coverage of Association programs, events, signature initiatives, advocacy efforts, and other projects.
Advance communication opportunities and solutions, and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them.
Provide sound financial management of the focus area's budget, identifying areas for both efficiencies and investment.
Manage and oversee the association website.
Develop and oversee the organization's social media strategy and activity including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and other online platforms.
WORKING CONDITIONS Travel 25% Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer printer.
Hybrid worker with 2 - 3 days in the Washington, D.
C.
office preferred.
About You THE IDEAL CANDIDATE The mission of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers is to advance and support a richly diverse, globally interconnected community of higher education professionals as well as the institutions, organizations, and learners they serve through its resources, leadership, and advocacy.
The Director will work directly to support these efforts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Excellent written and verbal communication skills (the ability to express complex thoughts clearly and succinctly using correct grammar) Knowledge of survey design, statistics and analytical methods Strong editing, proofreading skills, planning/organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to autonomously exercise good judgment in identification of critical tasks, setting of priorities and serving the needs of the Association Team player with the ability to interact appropriately with all internal and external colleagues Proficient knowledge of Asana, Pardot, Fonteva/Salesforce, Microsoft suite, Google workspace EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS BA/BBA/BS degree (Communications and Social Sciences preferred) Master's degree preferred 10

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
