Position
Summary:
The Director, Government and External Relations (GER), conceptualizes and directs ETS's Government Relations strategy for ETS lines of business, making contacts with key federal and state officials and providing leadership in establishing strategic alliances to advance public policies that support ETS's business and mission.
The incumbent will manage federal and state lobbyists to support, shape and impact legislative and regulatory management related to these issue areas.
This role also identifies, establishes, and leverages government contacts and opportunities to advance ETS business objectives and revenue goals and works to position ETS as a key player in education and workforce reform among federal and state policymakers and opinion leaders.
The Director, Government and External Relations receives supervision from the Associate Vice President, Government and External Relations.
This is a leadership role that functions under minimal direction.
Responsibilities:
Proactively position ETS in all areas of interest, protecting existing business, pursuing new business, and expanding brand understanding with key external groups including policymakers, educational associations and other opinion leadersOversees GER consultants and manage GER staff as needed.
Lead government relations efforts in ETS major line of businessParticipate in new business pursuit teams in designated region, including providing intelligence and targeted messaging.
Direct and provide intelligence to advance ETS business and policy interests.
Provide leadership in aligning ETS's government relations objectives and the organization's education policy research, reports and work related to key lines of business.
Monitor government, industry and public opinion trends to all key lines of business.
Leads the development and implementation of government and external relations plans.
Track federal and state legislative initiatives to identify key issues that will have an impact on ETS's business goals, mission and/or reputation; once identified, implements process to manage these issues.
Represent and attend conferences and forums, disseminating information supporting ETS's business and mission and addressing various constituencies' interest.
Participate in high level internal meetings.
Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to the job function.
Education:
Bachelor's degree is required.
Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
7
years progressive experience in government relations and policy analysis or closely related work within education sector.
Experience in education policy, including familiarity with federal, state and/or global policymaking process and vehicles for shaping such policy.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
