Marketing Coordinator/Specialist

GENERAL FUNCTION:
Using an understanding of the C-SPAN mission and in coordination with the Advertising and Marketing Manager, the Marketing Coordinator/Specialist will support all aspects of marketing, advertising and promotions to effectively promote C-SPAN's brands, products and services.
Responsibilities:
With Marketing Manager, places Facebook social media ads and reports results for campaigns.
Acts as back up for other social advertising and reporting.
Works with Marketing Manager to regularly report weekly and periodic results for all social and SEM advertising placed.
Plans, negotiates and places traditional and digital advertising campaigns for C-SPAN Classroom, StudentCam and for other education projects.
Plans and coordinates logistics, budgets and sponsorships for education tradeshows.
Plans, negotiates and places traditional and digital advertising campaigns for American History TV.
Follows AHTV calendar of events for potential promotion and sponsorship opportunities and executes those promotions.
Researches, bids and orders premiums across all C-SPAN brands as needed.
Tracks inventory of all premiums and promotional materials and manages relationship with fulfillment company.
Ensures disposal of obsolete items to keep fulfillment costs down.
With Marketing Manager, coordinates promotions and logistics for in-person events and conferences that help promote C-SPAN's core, Book TV and American History TV brands as well as our Education efforts as necessary.
Travels, attends and represents C-SPAN in a marketing capacity as needed for all events and conferences to promote C-SPAN's programming and services.
Manages all tradeshow asset inventory including relationship with vendors and fulfillment companies, ordering, shipping and disposal of obsolete items.
Assists the Marketing Manager with the C-SPAN shop including product development, promotional efforts, revenue tracking and vendor relationships.
Other duties as assigned.
BACKGROUND/SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising or related fields or relevant experience.
Minimum two years of experience in marketing, advertising or administration.
Familiarity with media placement for digital and traditional advertising including social media preferred.
Demonstrates teamwork within the unit, between departments and with external vendors.
Knowledge of public affairs, the cable industry, Capitol Hill and C-SPAN preferred.
Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills.
Ability and willingness to travel occasionally.
Must possess valid driver's license and have the ability to drive vehicles in accordance with C-SPAN operation guidelines.
Must possess an adequate credit rating to qualify for receipt of a company-issued credit card.
Recommended Skills Administration Business Relationship Management Coordinating Financial Management Logistics Operations Marketing Management Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
