Management Support Specialist

Management Support Specialist Department of Transportation Office Policy, International Aviation, and Environment, Resource Management Staff, APL-11 Location 2 vacancies in the following location:
Relocation expenses reimbursed No Telework eligible Yes as determined by agency policy Duties Summary Due to the Pandemic, and individual states with different phases of reopening, the selectees report date to the official duty station/facility may be delayed until such time as employee is allowed to report to the workplace.
The person selected may telework up to the maximum extent possible, up to and including full time, until it is safe to relocate.
Responsibilities F Band Duties:
Applies basic knowledge and limited experience to accomplish assignments.
Supports the logistics team while maintaining, creating, organizing and updating various IT applications, such as Tableau, Microsoft Teams, and web management; which will include supporting APL staff with requirements and standards for posting material to the FAA Internal and External websites, assisting with APL Knowledge Sharing Network (KSN) (SharePoint) pages for APL organizations.
Provides support and assistance to managers and staff to maintain and update administrative tasks for the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) for APL-11, which includes drafting and preparing correspondence.
Coordinates with a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional to assist with administrative tasks related to the National Wireless Program Office for iPhones, iPads, and Mifis.
Assists with the Employee Onboarding group and with emergency planning functions.
Works in a team environment and provides support to other team members to include monitoring the status of assets that are assigned to APL and updating the Automated Inventory Tracking System (AITS), Records Management, interacting with AIT on APL employee requests.
Supports APL Onboarding/Offboarding and Records Management Program responsibilities.
Typical assignments may include:
collecting and recording data/information; conducting research; identifying problems; and assisting higher level professionals in day-to-day operations.
Assists APL staff with day-to-day operations in maintaining the required safeguards and practices for handling, processing, derivative classification and markings, storage, transmission and dissemination and destruction of classified national security information, classified national security systems and Communications security (COMSEC) equipment and material, as set forth in applicable law, Executive Orders, federal regulations, DOT and FAA security policies and guidance.
G Band Duties:
Applies experience and detailed knowledge to provide a full range of administrative and operational support for the assigned organization.
Assists the logistics team with various IT applications, such as Tableau, Microsoft Teams, and web management, which will include working with the FAA Section 508 Program Office to provide APL staff with requirements and standards for posting material to the FAA Internal and External websites and assisting with APL Knowledge Sharing Network (KSN) (SharePoint) pages for APL organizations.
Supports managers and staff with responsibilities for Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) for APL-11 by maintaining, creating, organizing and updating administrative tasks.
Supports Mobility Services Coordinator (MSC) with administrative tasks related to the National Wireless Program Office for iPhones, iPads, and Mifis.
Assists APL Onboarding/Offboarding and Records Management Program responsibilities.
Provides back-up support with the Employee Onboarding group and assists with emergency planning functions.
This includes attending periodic meetings in the event the primary incumbent is unavailable.
Works in a team environment and provides back-up support to other team members to include monitoring the status of assets that are assigned to APL and updating the Automated Inventory Tracking System (AITS), Records Management, interacting with AIT on APL employee requests.
Assists in maintaining the required safeguards and practices for handling, processing, derivative classification and markings, storage, transmission and dissemination and destruction of classified national security information, classified national security systems and Communications security (COMSEC) equipment and material, as set forth in applicable law, Executive Orders, federal regulations, DOT and FAA security policies and guidance.
Travel Required 25% or less - The job may require up to 25% travel.

Qualifications To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-E, FG/GS-8 level.
This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Specialized experience is defined as:

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-F, FG/GS-9 level.
This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Specialized experience is defined as:
