1428 ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION AND THE OPPORTUNITY The Education Trust (Ed Trust) seeks a Senior Manager, Human Resources in its Washington, DC headquarters.
The Senior Manager will join a staff committed to fulfilling our mission of closing opportunity gaps that disproportionately affect students of color and students from low-income backgrounds.
The Human Resources Sr.
Manager plays a key role in support of the Human Resource team's work to recruit and retain diverse top talent within Ed Trust's DC headquarters and across its multi-state offices (i.
e.
, California, Michigan, New York, Louisiana, Tennessee, Texas, Washington State, and Massachusetts).
This role is ideal for a well-rounded HR professional who has expertise and substantial experience with administering total rewards programs (i.
e.
, compensation and/or benefits), including handling nuanced benefits compliance matters.
The Sr.
Manager will know their way around an HRIS (in this case, ADP) and have an aptitude for ensuring HR data is clean, accurate, and consistent.
This role will function with a high degree of autonomy and will have the opportunity to provide direct support to people managers and to lead HR programs that are critical to the employee experience (e.
g.
, onboarding and offboarding).

This role is based in our Washington, DC office and is eligible for telework for up to 3 days per week.
The Assistant Director, Human Resources reports to the Director, Human Resources.
This position may supervise 1-2 interns or employees as appropriate and budget permitting.
ABOUT THE ROLE The responsibilities and objectives for the role include, but are not limited to, the following:
Support the HR Director in creating and executing strategic plans and annual work plans for the Human Resources department that center the organization's values of diversity, equity, and inclusion Provide expertise, inform, and lead total rewards programs, including:
Benefits administration and related compliance activities across the states in which Ed Trust operates (e.
g.
, 5500 filings, family and medical leave) in collaboration with our benefits consultant and Sr.
HR Generalist Compensation program administration, including job evaluation, generating offer recommendations, maintaining and reporting on pay data, and conducting analyses to support pay equity within the organization in collaboration with the HR Director End-to-end management of the annual open enrollment process in close collaboration with the Sr.
HR Generalist and HR Director Problem solving nuanced and complex benefits issues with staff, consultants, and carriers Lead the work to ensure data accuracy and integrity within our HRIS system (i.
e.
, ADP) and with our insurance carriers through regular reporting, reconciliation, process improvements and process mapping, working closely with our Sr.
HR Generalist Develop and manage policies and programs that support a positive employee experience - such as new employee onboarding, performance management programs, and offboarding - and use data to inform continuous improvements Provide direct support to people managers in areas of expertise and on complex HR matters, escalating issues as appropriate to the HR Director Design and facilitate trainings on HR programs and processes to increase consistency and quality of the employee experience across offices and departments Provide general support to the HR team in additional areas as needed Stay up-to-date and inform the HR team on changes to HR laws and new HR best practices, and incorporate learnings, particularly in the areas of compensation and benefits IDEAL SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS Shared belief in Ed Trust's mission and a commitment to improving educational equity, with a focus on race equity Dedication in contributing to and maintaining an equitable working environment, both on an individual-level and as a steward of equity as a member of the HR team Ability to build trusting relationships with diverse stakeholders to accomplish work objectives Demonstrated ability to plan and manage time effectively to meet both shorter and longer term deadlines and work on multiple detail-oriented tasks often on a time-sensitive basis Strong communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to convey ideas clearly to diverse audiences through presentations and facilitation Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills, including proficiency with HRIS reporting and using Excel to reconcile and analyze data, and generate insights (e.

Experience:
At least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field; SHRM or other HR certification a plus Significant experience (e.

years) in human resources jobs with progressively increasing responsibility and with specific experience in the administration of compensation and/or benefits (total rewards) programs Experience applying a DEI lens to human resources matters, particularly as it relates to compensation and benefits Leadership acumen with projects and with people COMPENSATION The annual range for this Level E position in our Washington, DC compensation structure is $89,920-$134,880.
New hire offers are commensurate with skills, experience, internal pay equity and budget, and typically fall between the minimum of the range and the midpoint:
$89,920-$112,400.
