Summary:
The Human Resources Assistant assists one or more functional areas within Human Resources department.
The position provides administrative and clerical support to the HR management team, and assists with onboarding activities, new employee orientation, HR training activities, and special projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and
Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and clerical support to the HR management team.
Coordinate the scheduling of required health assessments and background checks for current employees.
Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department.
Compile, organize, update and maintain Agency personnel records and documentation in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and HR practices and procedures.
Assist HR managers with onboarding activities, new employee orientation and HR training activities.
In coordination with HR Managers, initiate/process background checks andfingerprinting, and coordinate/schedule appointments for health assessment of new hires, current employees, consultants, and interns.
Ensure work authorization documents of all newly hired employees are accurately processed through E-Verify's web-based employment eligibility verification within three (3) days of hire.
Follow-up on pending transactions and notify HR Manager of Tentative Non- Confirmations.
Assist HR management staff with special projects as assigned.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent education.
One year ofadministrative supportexperience in human resources.
SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:
Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.
Organizational skills.
Advanced PC skills.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft outlook 365, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
