The RoleWe are seeking a Director, Global Tax Reporting & Compliance to lead the tax function at KAYAK OpenTable, a Booking Holdings Company.
This senior-level position will ideally be located on the East Coast of the United States but consideration will be given to US candidates based elsewhere.
Reporting to KAYAK OpenTable Senior Vice President, Controller, the Director, Global Tax will be responsible for direct and indirect tax reporting and compliance across regions and business functions and will be pivotal in tax planning and risk management matters.
The Director, Global Tax will oversee an international team of three experienced and highly motivated regional tax managers, effectively liaise with external advisors, and have a dotted line to Booking Holdings Senior Vice President, Tax.
We will count on the Director, Global Tax to foster a culture of excellence and strong collaboration, elevate KAYAK OpenTable's tax function, and proactively guide the business to operate successfully in an increasingly complex tax environment.
This position requires proven extensive experience with indirect tax matters (DST, PST, VAT/GST, etc.
), transfer pricing strategy and reporting, tax audits, withholding tax, and corporate income tax.
The ideal candidate is curious and agile with a strong growth mindset and entrepreneurial spirit.
In this role, you will:
Oversee and maintain compliance with direct and indirect taxes, globally, including actively seeking alignment and consistency with Booking Holdings Tax Team and sister brands.
Drive process design and implementation initiatives to facilitate and ensure Tax compliance.
Build, develop, and lead a successful Tax Team, cultivating a professional and supportive environment.
Manage KAYAK OpenTable's monthly, quarterly and annual global tax disclosures in support of the monthly financial close and Booking Holdings SEC Forms 10-Q and 10-K filings.
Build strong relationships with KAYAK OpenTable Finance, Legal and FP&A teams, and Booking Holdings Tax Team to ensure adequacy, accuracy and alignment on key tax matters and positions.
Manage KAYAK OpenTable transfer pricing strategy in close collaboration with Booking Holdings Transfer Pricing Team.
Drive the evaluation and continuous improvement of tax reporting processes.
Effectively plan, develop and maintain relationships with external advisors balancing expertise with budget management.
Evaluate adequacy and manage the effectiveness of the control environment.
Lead the efforts to ensure controls are operating effectively.
Monitor Tax Legislation, domestic and international, and assess any implications on the existing tax structure and compliance requirements.
Manage and consult on ad-hoc projects.
Advise senior management and business leads on tax related matters.

Have 10
years of relevant tax experience in leadership positions in public accounting and/or a multinational public Company.
Have 5
years leading a tax function with a wide purview in tax strategy, compliance and accounting for direct and indirect tax.
Hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
Are a self-starter with excellent communication, project management and organizational skills.
Are a motivational leader with experience in building, managing and developing teams, and can inspire change.
Build and invest in cross-functional relationships and effectively communicate with team members and senior management.
Have excellent knowledge of International tax regulations.
Have shown the ability to prioritize your work, manage deadlines, and align expectations with senior management.

The range for this United States located role is $161,000-$226,000.
In addition to a competitive base salary, roles are eligible for additional compensation and benefits including:
annual cash bonus; health benefits; flexible spending account; retirement benefits; life insurance; paid time off (including PTO, paid sick leave, medical leave, bereavement leave, floating holidays and paid holidays); and parental leave and benefits.
