Data Center Designer and Architect

Our client is an Alaskan Native 8A.
They have an opportunity to help an agency of the Federal Government plan a new data center.
Job OverviewWe are looking for someone with Senior level experience designing and working through the transition to a new data center.
You will work on the design, site review, and implementation plan.
This position requires a Secret Level Security Clearance.
You will be working on the design and potentially the implementation and transition to the new data center.
Although some of the work can be done remotely, site visits will be necessary frequently (at least weekly) in the DC area.
Essential Functions:
Strong background in Data Center Advisory and Strategy consulting including Data Center topology design, facility selection and portfolio rationalization Experience with designing and architecting data centers (traditional, modular etc.
) Experience with reviewing data center electrical single line diagrams Direct experience in transitioning traditional data center environments to Hybrid Cloud Experience leading data center evaluation and selections programs Strong professional network in the Data Center industry including Colocation and REITs Demonstrated hands-on experience with Data Center/Infrastructure Consolidation, Optimization and Relocation Demonstrated experience with Business Case Development, Cost Modeling, ROI Analysis Demonstrated ability to write report segments and to contribute to white papers and articles Experience providing consulting services related to IT Strategy, IT Architecture, Infrastructure Management, Data Center Facilities Design and Management, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity, Server, would be a plus Demonstrated knowledge of IT Program Management Professional and effective communication skills, (written and verbal), including Executive-level presentation and public speaking experience Ability to use Microsoft Office suite as well as Visio and Project Requirements:
Previous experience working on the creation of new Data Centers for the federal GovernmentProficient with traditional and cloud data centersAbility to Evaluate and Select best optionsOur client is based in Washington DC.
This is a Hybrid position.
You will be required to be in and around Washington DC many days per week - at various site visits.

This is initially a short term 16-week Contract.
There is the potential for extension as necessary.
Compensation will be as a subcontractor at an hourly rate up to $150/hr.
