POSITION SUMMARY The BSPOT (Basic Security Police Officer Training) Training Instructor provides instructional services to meet the Department of Energy - Headquarters unique needs in support of high-risk training activitiesThe instructor will provide expert skills and knowledge to deliver instruction to BSPOT students, focusing on ensuring students achieve the necessary skills mandated by the course curricula and course objectivesInstructors are required to evaluate students' performance by verifying the students understanding of the course material, competency of learned skills, and the student's ability to demonstrate applied knowledgeRESPONSIBILITIESo The instructor will provide expert skills and knowledge to deliver instruction to BSPOT students, focusing on ensuring students achieve the necessary skills mandated by the course curricula and course objectives.
o The instructor shall maintain awareness of appropriate BSPOT references, subject matter doctrine, curricula for training courses, and instructor training guides.
o Assess compliance with approved training procedures, safety precautions, and emergency procedures.
o Document results and report to the Training Officer, with observations and recommendations.
o Ensure all training mishaps are logged and reported appropriately
Qualifications Education:
Applicant must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or collegeTwo (2) years of experience may be substituted for one year of post high school education
Experience:
Applicant must possess at least five (5) years of demonstrated experience and knowledge of law enforcement and security methodologiesApplicant must have completed a minimum of five (5) years as an instructor; Basic Instructor Training, First Aid/CPR Course; Job Analysis; Firearms Instructor Course; IMF; Curriculum Development; Ground Control Training; Lead Instructor; Supervisor Development; Live Fire Range Operations; and Dye Marking Cartridge Training Clearance:
At a minimum, the individual proposed must possess a DOE (L) security clearance or must meet the eligibility requirements that will reasonably ensure a DOE (L) clearance is obtainedTraining:
