Reporting to Senior Director, Asset Development, this Utility-Scale Solar Manager will be responsible for managing several early and mid-stage utility-scale solar development projects, from securing land and managing landowner relations to interconnection, community relations, preliminary design and engineering, consultant management, legal oversight, permitting, pre-construction preparation, financing and origination support.
This person will be the lead project manager on numerous projects ranging from 20 to more than 600MWs and will also work to support a cross-functional team overseeing a portfolio in excess of 4GWs.
This role requires experience managing complex project through the full life cycle of development and into financing.
Our projects are located across the country so you should have experience working in multiple ISO's with some direct experience in ISONE, NYISO, PJM, MISO, CAISO and/or BPA.
Responsibilities:
Managing the day-to-day development tasks for a set of large, complex renewable energy projects throughout their lifecycle, up to construction.
Supervising, coordinating, and reviewing the work of multiple technicians & subject matter experts, consultants, and other internal stakeholders and be accountable for execution on complex, multi-disciplinary projects in multiple geographic regions.
Establishing and managing project budgets, schedules, and CAPEX pricing throughout the project lifecycle.
Track project risks throughout the development cycle, provide risk assessments and mitigations Deliver development projects on time and on budget.
Responsible for supporting the preparation of all materials needed by the Origination, Capital Markets & EPC teams to facilitate offtake, financing, and construction of complex deals.
Act as a clearinghouse for development related questions from internal and external stakeholders.
Facilitate productive communication between internal groups and lead project reporting consistent with expectations specified by Management.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related discipline MBA or related Masters' degree preferred At least 5 years' experience handling project development of utility-scale solar or solar-storage projects.
The ability to travel to project locations on an as needed basis and in general up to 50% of the time.
Ability to manage and support multiple projects simultaneously, with varying complexities and urgencies presented day to day.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working in MS Office Suite (Office, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Procore or a similar project management application Recommended Skills Capital Markets Communication Construction Engineering Design Process Finance Financial Management Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
