You will be assigned to the Correspondence, Records, and Staffing Division, responsible for processing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, Congressional document requests, and Department of Justice records requests for the Offices of the Secretary, Deputy Secretaries, Counselor, Under Secretary for Political Affairs and the Executive Secretary.

Help Duties Determines which records systems contains responsive documents, and contacts appropriate office(s) to obtain the information.
Reviews incoming requests for clarity and reasonableness and contacts requestors for clarification and to discuss document availabilities.
Assists in maintaining central control of all FOIA and Privacy Act (PA) requests received in the Offices of the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Counselor, Under Secretary for Political Affairs and the Executive Secretary.
Establishes liaison with appropriate bureaus, agencies, or departments in response to referred documents, and performs all relevant research.

Experience entering data into appropriate tracking systems.
OR B.
Completed 1 full year of graduate level education at an accredited college or university which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position; OR C.
Have a combination of graduate education and specialized experience (as described above), which is equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal Service; OR D.
Completed a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in an accredited college or university and have a grade-point average of B (3.

0 scale) for all completed undergraduate courses or those completed in the last two years of undergraduate study; OR E.
