They will be passionate about having a career working with animals and interested in exploring becoming a certified professional dog trainer.
This is a position with growth potential as the company continues to grow and evolve.
Preference will be given to somebody who wants a position where they can learn, have support obtaining professional certifications, and have expanding job responsibilities over time.
Primary Responsibilities Be the primary walker for dogs in BDWC's training program Perform Training Walks under the direction of the Lead Trainer Assist the Lead Trainer in dog training appointments and classes as needed Be a floating Dog Walker for BDWC general clientele, as needed Job responsibilities to expand as training program evolves and the assistant becomes proficient in new skills Qualifications 1 year of experience handling animals (not your own), preferably dogs, can be paid or unpaid Ability to remain calm and patient in difficult and frustrating situations Ability to be flexible with changing conditions Self starter who can manage their schedule, operate without direct supervision in the field, and be honest in communicating issues or errors that occur Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively Have an interest in working with animals, particularly in behavior, as a career Vehicle and ability to transport dogs preferred, reliable transportation plan for all weather conditions required Enjoy working outside and being active with dogs Weekends and evenings as needed, holidays optional Additional opportunities for house sitting and in-home boarding Physical Requirements Walk briskly 5
hours a day, occasionally run for short distances Stand for long periods of time Stoop, bend, squat Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted Hold back dogs (potentially very large and strong dogs) pulling suddenly on a leash Be active in all weather conditions:
you may be out in 90 degree heat, 30 degree cold, wind, light rain, etc.
We switch to potty breaks outdoors for extreme weather and we don't ask staff to be out in dangerous weather conditions.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
